a Thousand Cranes

During our time at the school, one of our teachers, Dr. Small, was experiencing a tough time. His mother in the United States was seriously ill. The class wanted to share something special with him to let him know about our care and concern for him.

One of my classmates came up with the idea of folding origami cranes. In Japanese culture, it is said that if you fold a thousand cranes then your wish and hope will come true.

Ultimately, his mother passed away. But the cranes are a reminder of love and compassion. You can still find these cranes hanging in his office.
