The Vancouver Art Gallery is smack dab in the middle of downtown Vancouver. It is the home to its own collection of displays and a number of travelling, temporary exhibits. The building itself is the old court house, but the courts moved across the street many years ago. So the art gallery took up residence in this building. And from the picture, it's obvious that people like to take advantage of the well-manicured lawn during favourable weather. |

The Burrard Street Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in the city. It has two distinct towers on either end of the bridge. It spans across False Creek and connects downtown Vancouver with the neighbourhood of Kitsilano. It's a busy thoroughfare during the week with people going back and forth from work--by car, bus, bicycle, and foot. Some people have drawn comparisons between this bridge and the bridge at the mouth of Sydney, Australia's harbour. This bridge is definitely not as big nor grand as that one. |

Just near the south end of the Burrard Street Bridge is this odd-looking building. It is the home to two attractions. The Pacific Space Science Centre resides on the top floor. It is complete with exhibits about outer space, astronauts, and other space related goodies. There is also a star theatre that is directly underneath the roof. The ground floor is home to the Vancouver Musuem, Canada's largest civic museum. It carries artifacts donated by local folks as well as a number of temporary exhibits. To get a sense of Vancouver's natural and human history, this is the place to go. |
