The Orleans Hotel

Marlene and Leon Levin have selected a magnificent hotel for the 2005 Reunion in Las Vegas. The information on this page is intended to give you an idea of the delights that await you when you come to Las Vegas to get reacquainted with all of your shipmates. We start this quick tour with a photo of the hotel exterior.

Once inside the hotel you will have a wide variety of activities to keep you occupied. What follows is a sample of these activities.

How about starting the day with a workout at the Fitness Center.

Maybe you would prefer being pampered at the Spa. The Spa offers special packages tailored to your individual desires. In addition th Spa offers paraffin treatments, exfoliations, facials, and waxings.

You might feel like relaxing at the pool with a cool drink after you have completed your first choice of the day. The skies are usually clear and this can be a great place to decide what you will be doing the rest of the day
Your next choice might be to visit the casino and try your luck at the tables or the slot machines. Even if you do not feel like gambling the Casino is a worthwhile exploration trip to pick up the sounds and the excitement of the patrons. Take a look.
If you get thirsty as a result of being surrounded by all the glitz, glitter, and the sound and excitement of all the gambling that is occuring you might consider ordering a drink that is to your liking. As you can see the waitresses are very efficient and business like.
If you work up an appetite and feel like getting something to eat you only have about 15 eateries in the hotel. Everything from elegent to fast foods that you are familiar with. This dining room looks very elegent to me. What do you think?

If you are in the mood for something other than elegant dining you might want to try one of the following, all of which are located in the hotel.
Here are some of the eating places that might tempt your appitite.

In the event the above eating places did not tickle your fancy, this is another listing of eating places in the hotel.

When evening arrives, and if you have the energy to participate in additional activities, you might want to visit the Orleans Showroom that offers a current lineup of such notables as Debbie Reynolds, Neil Sedaka, Frankie Avalon, Tony Orlando, and Bobbie Rydell.

As an alternative you might prefer attending an event at the Orleans Arena. Planned events include Hocky games, concerts, boxing, equestrian shows, competitions, motor and team sports, and a variety of family style shows.

If you are the active type of person, and prefer something less exciting you can try bowling.

If you are the less active type, there are 18 movies playing and one of them may pursuade you to attend.

By the end of the evening you will probably be tired and ready for some quiet time in your room reading, watching TV, or just plain hitting the sack. The rooms are all double occupancy with a choice of a double bed or twin beds. The rooms are very inviting as the following photo shows.

On one of your days in Las Vegas you will be attending a business meeting and a Banquet in the hotel. This is an example of how the meeting room might be set up for us.

I think you will agree with me that Marlene and Leon Levin have picked a great hotel for us and are continuing to perform a terrific service for all their friends and shipmates.

The hotel is holding a block of 60 rooms single or double occupancy @$59.00 per night. Our shipmates can book immediately by calling 800-675-3267. They must identify themselves as attendees of the LST 1159 Reunion to get this block rate. At the time the reservation is made, each shipmate will be asked to provide a major credit card or send a deposit for their first night’s room and tax.

Cancellations on individual room reservations will be accepted up to 48 hours prior to the check in time of 4pm on the scheduled date of arrival with no penalty fee.

The cutoff date for the room blocks to be held is 8/25. We need to cancel remainder of the rooms by this date in order to get our deposit returned.
