The hotel is holding a block of 50 rooms single or double occupancy at $60.00 plus 9% tax per nite from Sunday-Wednesday. They are also holding 10 rooms single or double occupancy for Saturday arrivals, if any, at $120.00 plus 9% tax. Shipmates should call Reservations during the following hours Pacific Standard Time.

o Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm
The reservations number is 1-800-675-3267 and shipmates need to IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS ATTENDEES OF THE LST 1159 REUNION in order to receive the special block rate.
At the time the reservation is made, the guest will be asked to provide a major credit card or send a deposit for their first night's room and tax. The cutoff date for the room block is August 25, 2006. We need to cancel the remainder of the rooms by this date in order to get our deposit back and this will be applied towards the banquet expenses.
To insure space availability, the hotel is requesting that we call in a timely manner. Cancellations on individual room reservations will be accepted up to 72 hours prior to the check in time of 4pm on the scheduled date of arrival with no penalty fee. However, any individual who cancels their reservation after this cutoff, will be responsible for one night's room and room tax.
Also stated in the signed contract is the fact that The Orleans WILL NOT be charging us a room rental for the Meeting or Banquet Room. That is good news again.
Leon and I will be meeting with the Banquet Director in January 2006 to discuss our Banquet Dinner and the charges. I will also look into another type of tour for next year and a shopping trip for the ladies. Once all the expenses are determined, I will advise you of the cost per person.
