Barbourville, Kentucky September 4, 2003 HOWARD WAVES FINAL FAREWELL ~~~~~ Woollum Post Office Closes Georgia Howard, postmaster at Woollum Post Office, retires after 33 years of service. Last Thursday was the last day the post office was in operation. The U.S. Postal Service has closed it. However, Postal service officials have not decided to close it permanently. |
PAUL STEVEN SAUNDERS "Barbourville [KY] Mountain Advocate Online" June 20, 2002 ~~~~~ Paul Steven Saunders, 23, of Green Road, passed away Friday, June 14, 2002 at Cannon. He was born on April 25, 1979 in Knox County. He was a lineman for Richardson Contractors and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. He is survived by his birth mother, Nellie Saunders Collins and his stepfather, John Colllins of Gray; Vernon and Norma Trent of Green Road; his brothers, Doug Saunders, George Saunders, Jimmy Saunders and Robert Saunders; sisters, Tammy Saunders, Beth Collins and Betty Jones; his brothers, Eric Trent and wife Christine, Robbie Chandler Trent and Jackson Eric Trent; foster brother, Todd Burnett; his sisters, Dean Jones and husband Brian and Lucinda Strong and husband Ben; foster sisters, Shala Owens, Chasty Owens and Stefanie Burnett; grandparents, George and Georgia Howard; his aunts, Helen Smith and husband Junior, Georgia Wilburn and husband Carl Ray, Jerald Dean Garman, and Debbie Mercer and husband Rich; his uncles Basil Trent Jr. and wife Georgia Ann, Ray Trent and wife Wittie and G.C. Trent and wife Lena, Rolland Howard and wife Teresa. Funeral services for Paul Steven Saunders were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, June 18 with the Rev. William Mann Cobb officiating. Burial was in the Nan Riley Cemetery at Fount. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
