A South Devon TUCKER family

This web page records the history of a TUCKER family which has lived in Brixham and Dartmouth, South Devon, since the early 1800s. They can be traced back to a John TUCKER, Salcombe mariner. Although some of the family remain in Dartmouth and Brixham, most are now dispersed all over the country and indeed the world.

Unlike many other surnames, the spelling of TUCKER was consistent from the earliest times. As in other pages on this site, different people with the same forenames are distinguished by numbers in brackets before the surname.

The information about this family comes from church and civil registers, censuses, newspaper reports,  and oral history. Details are available on request.

For privacy reasons, vital statistics are given only for persons known to be deceased. Further details may be available to bona fide enquirers on request. Please contact the compiler if you have any more information to share about anyone in this family history.
