The current regime in China, in an attempt to boost tourism, is transforming a number of traditional sites, including Buddhist temples which they rather ignominiously seized from their adherents during the Maoist Revolution, into tourist attractions. Among these temples and holy sites was Fengdu, a traditional site of propitiation, which is discussed in the following article from the government's Beijing Review.
