Q. Do I have to be a
runner in order to participate?
A. No, the MacRealty Team
2006 is made up of walkers, joggers and, yes, a few serious runners. Enjoyment of a world-class event in the company of our teammates and a good measure of exercise is our main goal. Everyone is welcome to join!

|
Q. How are the teams
scored?
A. Every team member will receive a ChampionChip to provide accurate, net finish times and positions. Team score is based on adding the finish positions of the first 10 team members to cross the finish line. Low score wins.

Q. How is my race
time determined?
A. The ChampionChip timing system is used to record finishing times. The ChampionChip is a tiny transponder encased in plastic with a unique identity number. Its waterproof, so perfect for all weather and running conditions. You simply attach the chip to your shoe and it records the time it takes you to get from start to finish, no matter where in the pack you are, so you no longer need to deduct the time it takes to get to the starting line from your finish time. Chips are included in race-packages along with instructions for use.
|
|
Q. How do I
start in the same zone as my friend?
A. To start in the same zone, you both must select the same estimated finish time on your entry forms. If you are different levels of ability, you must choose the zone appropriate for the slower runner.
|
|
Q. What is a
Wave Start?
A. Entrants of similar ability are grouped in staggered time zones and start the race in a series of short timed intervals. Participants are assigned a time zone based on their estimated finish time. Don’t forget to indicate your estimated race time on the entry form, otherwise you will be assigned an estimated time of 1:45 (walker’s zone).
|
|
Q. How do I get my Race
Package?
A. Your race bib, timing chip, MacRealty SunRun T-Shirt and race-day information will be delivered to you/your office by noon Friday, April
21st.
|
|
Q. Where do we meet on
Race Day?
A. Plan on meeting the people you want to run/walk with well before 9:00AM. Because of the large crowd and the Wave Start procedure, there will be no opportunity for the team to meet before the start. However, plan to join your fellow team members at the MacRealty Post Race Brunch after the race. Watch the
“Team News & Announcements” section of this web site for details.
|
|
Q. Where do we get the race
results?
A. The names and times of all finishers and the results of the Corporate Team Challenge will be published in The Vancouver Sun newspaper on Monday, April
24, 2006 - the day after the race.
