Reading in full detail the thoughts and theories of different authors about running can be eye opening. There are some excellent books that give clear, accurate information that can provide the knowledge to improve your running. Some of these books can be difficult to find in your local bookstore, so I have provided links to enable your buying the the books online. White Clay Creek State Park is several thousand acres of woods, creeks, and trails of wilderness in the northeast corner of Delaware, and into Pennsylvania. The Washington and Old Dominion Trail is a 45 mile long linear park, cutting from the more urban suburbs close to Washington, DC and out to close to the Appalachian Mountains. Marathon Tips from Tim Newell is a collection of tips to use on raceday to help you with your race. Most tips are keyed toward training, while this list is focused on the time during your race. To go with that list, there is also a list of runs done by the Carolina Godiva Track Club. These weekly runs are in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. DRS member Joel Zucker collapsed and died after finishing the 1998 Hardrock 100 Mile in Silverton, Colorado. Hardrock is an extremely tough race, but Zucker had finished it three years in a row. Runner's World has begun a page the list the current qualifiers for the Olympic Trails Marathons, both Men and Women. There is currently only one runner from the M@Dead region, Maryland's Darrell General, but that number is sure to grow. The Final Test is a description of the last part of the M@Dead Saturday morning trail runs. The Final Test is used as the confirmation that you are really in shape, or not. The trail section is really not all that tough, but when run as the Final Test demands, it takes on new dimensions. The new M@Dead FAQ is now online to answer any of those festering questions about M@Deads. This has been recently updated to include the monthly Penguin runs from Pierce Mill. Shin Splints?
