There's absolutely no hints or signs in the series that supports this couple, but us as their fans love to imagine them together (me being one of them ^_^). Some reasons for this pairing to look so good when they're together is probably because of their same gentle and intelligent attitude, the beautiful blue eyes, the rich background of both, and their same amount care to Sakura (There might be more, but I can't think right now). There are lots of fanfics dedicated to this pair, and they achieved a high popularity in animedom.
Sakura Kinomoto + Eriol Hiiragizawa Another fake pair, but it might be possible. Eriol is gentle and caring whenever he's with Sakura, and he also has the ability to make Syaoran jealous of him. Eriol often challenges Syaoran in front of Sakura, and wins most of the time. Eriol's victories might be one of the reasons people think Sakura likes him, and also all the cute looks he gives her might prove something as well.
