There are three types of Rin a human being has to pay - 

1. Pitra Rin or Brahm Rin - Pitra Rin is of Brahmaa's Rin and is paid off by producing children.

2. Dev Rin - Dev Rin is of Bhagvaan Vishnu's Rin and is paid off by donations.

3. Rishi Rin - Rishi Rin is of Bhagvaan Shankar's Rin and is paid by acquiring and imparting knowledge.
