Tidbits (3)

I read two stories while reading Geetaa written by Swaamee Dayanand Jee. I would like to share them with all.

Somebody asked Hanuman Jee - "You must have seen the whole Mahaabhaarat war, how was it?" Hanuman Jee replied - "No, I didn't see the whole war, after a while I slept because it was so boring. I wish you would have seen Raam-Raavan war. It was so lively." "Why"
Because in Mahaabhaarat war Bhagavaan Himself did not participate in fighting, while in Raam-Raavan war Raam Bhagavaan Himself was fighting with Raakshas that is why it was more interesting.

Once Arjun went to Raameshwaram and saw the bridge built by Raam. He expressed his surprise - "What was the need of building this bridge through the help of so many monkeys? Raam was such a good archer He could have built this bridge by His arrows only." Hanumaan Jee was wandering there, he said - "You consider yourself the best archer, don't you? This is a lots of distance, leave it. (then showing him a narrow stream there only he said) Can you build a bridge here, on this stream, with your arrows?" This was a great challenge to Arjun like archer. "Why not" and he immediately built a bridge over that stream and showed it to Hanumaan Jee. Hanumaan Jee asked - "Can I cross this stream by walking on this bridge?" Arjun said - "That is what it is for." As Hanumaan Jee stepped on that bridge, the bridge broke and Hanuman Jee was able to save himself somehow by jumping from it on the dry land. He said to Arjun - "Even one small monkey could not walk on this bridge, you should know that Raam's bridge had to carry millions of monkeys up to so far place, Lankaa, in sea where water was always agitating."
Then only Arjun could know that that bridge was not an ordinary bridge, it had Raam's Shakti (power) in it.

Some Other Stories About Raam

When Raam and Lakshman were wandering in search of Seetaa and came to Pampaa Lake. They decided to take bath in it. So they thrust their bows into the earth near the lake. After his bath Lakshmana saw that his bow was smeared with blood. Seeing it, Rama said, ‘Look, brother, some living being seems to have been injured.’ Lakshmana dug in the earth and saw a big frog half dead. Full of compassion, Rama said, ‘Why didn’t you make a noise? We would have tried to save you! When a snake seizes you, you croak loudly!’ The frog said, ‘Rama, when I am seized by a snake, I croak loudly, ‘Rama save me, save me! Oh Rama!’ Now when I see that Rama himself is killing me, I don’t say anything.’ ”
