Sugar Act of 1764

The sugar act did three things halved the duty on foreign malasses hoping that the colonist would pay a lower tax rather then risk arest sumggling it,placed duties on imports not yet taxed,and provided colonist accused of violating the act would be tried in a vice-admiralty court rather than a colonial one.

Stamp Act
March 22, 1765 thru March 18, 1766

Imposed a tax on documents and printed items such as wills,newspapers,and playing cards. A stamp would also be placed on the item to prove it had been paid.

Quartering Act
March 24, 1765
Allowed for troops to be housed in colonial homes.
Townshend Acts
June 26, 29, July 2, 1767

British taxes on certain colonial imports and stations troops at major colonial ports to protect customs officers.

Tea Act
May 10, 1773

Britain gives the East India Company special concessions in the tea buisness and shuts out colonial tea merchants.

Intolerable Acts
March-June, 1774
King George III Tightens control over massachusetts bt closing boston harbor and quartering troops.
