| 1. E-mail draft, Tuesday, July 3, voluntary participation. Anyone who wants to | ||||||||
| to take his turn may do so. There will be no time limits during the week of July 4th. | ||||||||
| 2. The draft clock will start at Sunday July 9th, 6pm central. Time limits will be enforced starting | ||||||||
| on Sunday evening. | ||||||||
| 3. Each owner may use a maximum of 24 hrs per selection. If the owner has not chosen | ||||||||
| within that period of time, the next player goes on the clock. The owner just passed over can submit his | ||||||||
| pick at any time, but the status will be first come/first served for him until he is able to execute this pick. | ||||||||
| If two owners submit the same pick, the player would belong to the owner whose e-mail I receive first. | ||||||||
| 4. Although there is a 24-hour time allotment per selection, each owner will strive to make his | ||||||||
| selection as quickly as possible. This time should not be used for deliberation or for negotiating | ||||||||
| trades. Each owner is expected to plan for contingencies, just as he would during a live draft. | ||||||||
| This means having a short list of players. If you're favorites are taken, you should have a pretty | ||||||||
| good idea who would be next on your list. By the same token, you should have a pretty good idea | ||||||||
| if you want to trade you pick a couple of selections in advance. Use the time during someone | ||||||||
| else's turn to set up a trade. | ||||||||
| 5. This long time allotment is designed to prevent someone from losing a selection because he | ||||||||
| is sleeping, working a double shift, or any other reason someone might be occupied and unable | ||||||||
| to get to access to the Internet. | ||||||||
| 6. If for some reason you suspect you might miss your selection, you may send an e-mail to | ||||||||
| the Commissioner with a list of players ranked in the order of preference. DO NOT say, | ||||||||
| "Commish, just take a running back for me." I won't do it. I will execute clear and specific | ||||||||
| instructions, such as, "I want Joe Namath, if available, otherwise take the first guy on this list | ||||||||
| of running backs. If all of these are taken, please select Paul Warfield." | ||||||||
| 7. If you submit a list, you should put the following in the subject line of the e-mail: | ||||||||
| "Sealed Selection, <selection number>" Replace <selection number> with your selection number. | ||||||||
| If you are mailing in the second pick of the fourth round, your subject line should read: | ||||||||
| "Sealed Selection, 4.2" Remember, the Commissioner owns his own team. The info in the | ||||||||
| subject line tells me not to open the e-mail with your list until it's your turn. | ||||||||
| 8. My goal is to complete 1-1/2 to 2 rounds per week. At two rounds per week, eight rounds | ||||||||
| will be finished around August 8. Three rounds per week is not unrealistic. The sooner we finish, the | ||||||||
| sooner everyone can start preparing for drafts in other leagues. | ||||||||
| 9. You can overload your roster during the draft under certain provisions. First, you may not exceed any of | ||||||||
| the position maxima at any time, which are 3 qb, 5 rb, 6 wr, 3 te, 2 pk, 2 st/df. This means even under the | ||||||||
| overloading exception, the pre-season roster maximum will be equal to the sum of all of the position maxima, | ||||||||
| which is 21. You must cut down to 16 players no later than August 26. | ||||||||
| 10. If you have fewer than 16 players after the completion of the eight round, you will be allowed to keep making | ||||||||
| selections until your roster is fulled. | ||||||||
