I've heard really positive comments on Dogpile, though personally I also find Google a very effective search engine for the web. And Hotbot is believed to be one of the most comprehensive search engines, with an estimated coverage of some 60%. Combined with AltaVista, the number of indexable web pages is increased further. Take your pick!
