It all started when he was ten years old. Here's his choice: band or choir? Choir in his school was not cool, so band it was! Next choice, snare drum or trumpet? Now, we're cool! But, he couldn't make a single sound on the trumpet. And, he figured drums would be more irritating to his mother. So, there you have it. At fifteen his relentless nagging for a real drum set paid off. His pursuit began there. A talent show at seventeen helped with popularity, and a stint with the touring Christian band 'The Edge' at nineteen, helped realize his desire to pursue a career in music, no matter how many bologna sandwiches or how much Top Ramen he would have to eat. Steve Smith, Alex Van Halen, Peart, Portnoy, Scott Rockenfield, Tommy Taylor, that guy from Supertramp, and Jeff Porcaro are some of the artists who've influenced his musical tastes and style. He says that they all have styles that he's tried to mold into his own. Well… at least now he can play without hitting himself in the face. Ok, so maybe he still does on occasion, and you drummers out there know what I am talking about. Ouch!…that'll leave a mark. He feels blessed with the opportunity to work with Marc, Dawayne and Kevin. They've worked with each other on and off for a number of years and their ties are as deep as any dysfunctional family! He can't wait to see what's in store for The Marc Allen Band, and for you , the fans that he loves.
