Marc grew up in the small town of Liberty, Utah. He started playing the keyboard by ear at age 10. Though, in his earlier years in school he played the saxophone. Marc attended Weber High and there he played in every school band he could, including symphonic, marching and jazz. Also heavily into art, Marc went on to study graphic design at Utah State University. He studied design for three years before changing majors, eventually received a bachelors degree in business/operations management. In the public music scene Marc spent most of his audible career performing in a band called Rough Water. He had grown up with the lead singer Joe, and they started the band back in 1990. Marc eventually left that band and co-founded The Marc Allen Band in 2002. The band was a compilation of various musicians that he had the privilege of working with on various projects. Over the years Marc has become an accomplished songwriter with more than 50 songs and 5 albums under his belt.

"I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such talented people. This band is a marriage that endures obstacles of music, technicality, image, and time through relentless practice an understanding of what's important. I feel very lucky to be a part of it. Thanks for the love and support of my wife, friends, and family that has allowed me to do this thing I love."
