Remarks

  1. Route descriptions directed away from Brisbane (i.e. towards the north for odd numbers and towards the west for even numbers).
  2. The basic system (A1-A7) has odd north-south routes, with numbers increasing towards the west, and even east-west routes, with numbers increasing to the north.
  3. In addition, there are numbers derived from old national routes and highways, essentially keeping the same numerical part.
  4. National Highway 15 between Brisbane and Warwick is planned to be replaced by the A15.
  5. National Highway 85 between Toowoomba and Goondiwindi is planned to be replaced by the A39.
  6. National Routes 13, 17, 42, 46 and 83 will apparently remain.
