Do you have free
will?
No. Everything is caused by determinism (prior action). If you had free will, the laws of physics would be wrong. Have they ever been wrong ever? No.
Furthermore, if god is
omniscient, he (it) knows all future actions including all actions you will
"choose". This implies that: If you did have free will and god is all-powerful, all-knowing and all-good, he would be obligated to stop all evil from happening (he knows where and when it will happen and has the power to stop it). Furthermore it doesn't make sense that something evil can stem from something all-good. Does determinism imply everything we do is pre-determined (fatalism)? Yes, but not necessarily by intelligent design (deism). Present reality is simply a product of past reality. Since all things that exist are caused by other things that exist (matter, forces, energy), one could predict all future actions if one had all the information on all of the matter, energy, forces etc. of the universe. However, all of this cannot currently be predicted by human knowledge. Bits and pieces can. For example, if I throw a ball, we can predict where it will fall based on all the various laws of physics (its speed, gravity, etc.) There is no cosmic force of free will that somehow mystically, supernaturally allows you to violate these laws. You are not different than the ball just because you have a human mind and feel important about yourself. All of your decisions (choices) were FORCED by prior action. They could not have turned out any differently than they did. Everything in the universe is matter in motion. If all our actions are determined since before our birth, can we blamed for any action we commit? No, but separate and apart from determinism, morality doesn't exist anyway. (If) determinism has an Achilles Heal, it isn't silly nonsense like the soul, it's Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle which applies to the sub-atomic world of quantum mechanics. The macrocosmic world we live in has it's foundation in quantum mechanics, so if reality is undetermined at the foundation, it follows that it must be undetermined period.
