Mardelle's Place
Bronze
portraits.
"Nostalgia"
This is a life size
sculpture 20 inches in height above the base. I created him from my
imagination after studying historical documents and the work of pioneer and contemporary
photographers. I designed the buffalo robe and bear claw jewelry in keeping with
tradition. Several months passed before I actually saw a man in person who could have been
my model.
"Winter
Chill"
This
was actually a kind of self portrait in spirit. I did not reproduce my features exactly.
It represents a pioneering woman braving the elements.
Many new experiences in life require that kind of fortitude.
I have survived the winters.
"New
Beads"
I
actually saw this little girl in the audience of an outdoor band concert.
She was listening to the music very intently.
Now she listens to my baby grand
Portrait in bronze of Ron Hertel commissioned by his beloved
wife, JoAnn.
