Enter your name as Zelda to skip immediately into the second quest. There is only one major glitch that I know of. Enter the first labyrinth, exit, and then enter once again. The locked door should be open. Upgrade your swords as soon as possible. You receive the White Sword when you have five heart containers and the Magical Sword when you have twelve. The booklet states that after earning all of the Triforce peices, you may use the whistle to warp immediately to level 9. However, this has never worked on my game, so don't complain if this doesn't work. After recieving the power bracelet, you may move some rocks and tombstones. There are two diamond shaped rock formations. Move the western rock to open a secret passageway. You start out with three hearts, no matter how many heart containers you have. If you have the power bracelet, just move over two screens to the right. Enter the tunnel and take the passage on the far right. Then move up one screen. You have reached a fairy fountain. The wand has the same power as the white sword. Try hitting enemies with the wand, not the energy beam. Most enemies are vulnerable to this. This is useful especially in the second quest if you get hit by a red bubble. Arrows can pick up items like rupees and hearts as well as the boomerang. Of course, it also takes away a rupee, but... Did anyone else notice that many of the labyrinths fit together like a jigsaw puzzle? Compare the shapes of one and three to levels 4, 5, 6, and 7. Starting in level two in the second quest, there are some walls that you can walk through. if all else fails, move to the center of the wall and walk into it for about a second. Some walls are one way, though. More than any other game, rupees are important here. There are numerous items you must buy, so use them wisely. Keep in mind that arrows take away a rupee as well. Here is a list of things that should probably be bought: Magic Shield (90) Arrows (80) Blue Candle (60) Enemy Bait (60) Water of life (68) Blue Ring (250) Also keep in mind that you can only carry 255 rupees. So you will need to save up for the blue ring. Sometimes there are rooms in labyrinths that are not on the map. An empty space surrounded by the labyrinth is usually a room. Also, the top left corner can usually be reached. You must use bombs to get into these rooms, and your reward is usually 10 rupees, not to mention a shortcut. |
