SHORE BASED EXPERIENCE:

Firm: Adamjee Insurance Company Ltd. Pakistan

Period: October 1992 to June 2000

8 years of shore based Marine Insurance experience.

Joined the largest and only multinational insurance company of Pakistan (AM Best rated) and was assigned to Head and manage Marine Division.

· Responsible for supervising marine hull, Liability, P&I and Marine cargo insurance departments having overall portfolio of about USD 20,000,000 as Marine Division Head.

· Directly responsible to Managing Director & CEO of the company.

· Adviser and coordinator of CEO in his various duties relating to all aspects of Marine related matters.

· Responsible for underwriting, assessing, analysing, rate-making Marine hull, Liability, P&I and cargo risks of varying nature. Speciality underwriting ships destined for last voyages.

· Responsible for claims management, loss prevention and liaison with claims settling agents, solicitors, average adjusters, surveyors, worldwide representatives and reinsurers etc at international level.

· Responsible for effective servicing of Marine portfolio including liaison with brokers, local and overseas area offices and branches.

· Promotion of Marine insurance business. Extensive interaction with various clients and brokers.

· Developed, adopted and implemented new insurance cover along the lines as offered by T.T. Clubs, Bumbershoot & Umbrella covers for all marine related business like NVOCs, Freight Forwarders etc.

· Successfully developed and implemented claims procedures, documents and guidance for local and overseas offices and branches.

Firm: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.

Period: September 1991 to September 1992

1 year of shore based Shipping experience.

Transferred ashore to Head Insurance and Claims department. Responsibility included to service hull and P&I insurance matters of 22 ships of the Corporation. Extensive involvement in securing better terms and conditions of all insurance related matters of the Corporation. Responsible to report to the Board of Directors on insurance aspects. Handling and dealing with claims lodged onto the Corporation as carriers.

SEA GOING EXPERIENCE:

Firm: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.

Period: From June 1973 to September 1991.

18 years of sea going Shipping experience

from 1973 to 1991 as Seafarer working in various capacities on board ships. 10+ years of experience in management capacity as Chief officer and Master on board ships. Commanded and managed various ships from 1988 to 1991. Responsible for ship, cargo and all pertinent matters. Responsible for all aspects of business, administration and shipboard operations. Responsible for Risk management and Loss prevention as applied to the shipboard operations.
