A REGIONAL REVIEWThis region is steeped in the history of the Marathas, the Moguls and the British. Many forts show the scars of battles fought long ago. It has lots of thick forests. Morning buses from PUNE railway station or SWARGATE to WELHE, BHOR and WAI are some of the major starting points for treks in this area. THE WAI AREAWAI is situated on the PUNE-MAHABALESHWAR road and is connected by many buses, which usually operate in the morning. There are excellent temples of Ganpati here. |
