"That wasn't so painful, was it?" Chris sat down on the couch next to Nick after turning off the confession camera.
"No. Where's the Playstation?" Nick asked eagerly, looking around the bus.
"In back," Chris led him to the tv, where he settled himself in for the rest of the trip. Bored with the console, Chris took her laptop back to the couch, and did some goofing around on the Internet, checking out stories and rumors about the guys. It was fun what there was out there, and she was going to enjoy checking out the fan sites for comments on the show once it aired tonight.
Half-way to Vancouver, Nick switched places with Brian, and Chris took him through his first confession, so to speak. It was painless, with Brian telling stories about himself as a child, until he too was released to go play with the Playstation.
******************************************
"It's cold." Howie frowned as he jumped off the bus, glad to finally be done with the day's ride.
"It's Canada, D." AJ said matter-of-factly and slapped him on the back. "That's why god created hot tubs."
"No fun alone, though." Brian added as they made their way into the hotel's service entrance, paying no attention to the screams they could hear in the distance. They didn't have time to talk to fans now, they had all of 1/2 hr until they had to go to the arena for sound check and a quick rehearsal before tonight's show.
"B-Rok! How'd the Confession go?" Kevin caught up to them, bags hanging off of his shoulders.
"Easy as pie." Brian smiled. "And Nick's right, that Playstation 2 is da bomb."
"Yeah?" Howie's ears perked up, interested.
"Oh yeah...there's this fighting game, and man, you can pick up, like, vending machines and smash them over people's heads..."
***********************************************
Chris was feeling blissfully lazy, lying on her back in bed, watching CNN Headline News, when there was a knock on the door. "Yeah," Chris got up and opened the door, slightly annoyed at her peace having been broken.
"Hey girlie," Julia blew into the room, holding a tube of lipstick up. "Too red?"
"I think that's the definition of fuck-me red, but it's up to you whether or not it's too red for you." Chris looked around the room, trying to figure out what was missing.
"Lost something?"
"No," she thought. "Need coffee. That's what I keep looking for."
"You going to go to the show tonight?"
Chris nodded. "I was thinking I'd try to talk to Howie a bit after the show. He seems to be so down about something."
"There's something, yeah, he's the only one of the guys who isn't really opening up to you get. The rest of them are doing great though, you got some great stuff in the confessions."
"You saw already?"
"Naw, just fast-forwarded around a little, I'll review it later tonight. But I saw Nick's arms flapping around, and Brian looking sweet and sincere, definitely good stuff.
"Only you would judge the quality of an interview on the expression on the subject's face, Julia."
"That's why you're the exec, Chris. So whatcha wearing tonight?"
*******************************************************
Chris sat next to Julia at the show, loving every minute of it, as always. It would never cease to amaze her to see someone like Howie go from being solemn and quiet, to holding an arena full of people in the palm of his hand. The guys were performers, and it was incredible just how 'on' they were.
Kevin took center stage and started telling the audience about the show that would be premiering across the country tonight on MTV. Screams erupted when the promo ran on the jumbotron, followed by some quieter screams when Kevin pointed Chris out to the arena.
Chris waved at the arena and vowed to kill Kevin later for doing this. He thanked her, told the fans when to watch the show, a "God Bless,' and the show was over.
"You like your welcome, did you?" Kevin hugged her when she finally made her way backstage. It seemed like there were more fans to plow through every time...was it possible the numbers were growing? Multiplying, even?
"It was an experience.." she laughed. "You could have warned me!"
"You would have tried to talk me out of it." He knew her better than that by now. "We all talked about it, decided that introducing you at the show would be the best way to handle this."
"Handle what?"
"The way our fans will react to you." Brian handed Kevin a bottle of water. "Want one, Chris?"
"Naw, I'm fine. React to me?"
"You read the Internet, Chris." Kevin shrugged. "Nothing major, we just figured we might as well try to make it as painless as possible."
"Gotcha." Chris nodded, pretending she understood. She didn't, not yet, anyway....
*********************************************************
Back at the hotel, Chris tapped away on her laptop, annoyed that Howie had managed to leave the arena before she caught up with him. The series had ran on the east coast 3 hours ago, and was airing on the west coast now. She had the TV on Headline News, of course, but e-mail was already flying in from friends who had seen the show and were raving.
A bang on her hotel room door. "THEY LOVE IT!" A scream from AJ.
Chris got up to open the door, laughing. "Yeah, they do."
AJ stopped dead in his tracks to take in Chris' outfit. Same one Kevin had gotten the giggles over, PJ's and fuzzy slippers. "Now that's sexy, baby."
"Very funny."
"We're all hanging in Kev's room watching the show run here, wanna come?" He winked at her.
"Sure." Chris grabbed her keys and cigarettes from her room and joined AJ for the walk down the hall to Kevin's room.
In the room, she found the guys sprawled on couches and chairs, focused intently on the television screen. The show was almost over, it was up to the 'Nicky Bedroom Incident' already.
"Chris!" Howie got up to hug her. "It really is well-done, thank you."
"Thanks, Howie," she returned the hug.
"More Disney, I see?" he gestured to the Mickey's on her feet.
"Can't ever have enough Disney."
"Damn Chris, you look like you're Nicky's age in that outfit." Julia's voice at the door made her turn.
"Isn't that what every woman is supposed to want?" Chris laughed before finding a seat on the couch next to Nick. "You don't mind if I look your age, do you?"
"I'm not that much younger than you." He looked her up and down. "But I like the Mickey's."
She wiggled her feet in the air. "So do I. They're comfy."
Her teasing done for the night, Julia waved to the guys and headed off to the production truck outside, "Have a good night."
The show ended, and Kevin turned off the TV. He turned to her, all seriousness. "I have a slightly strange proposition for you."
Chris looked at him, at all the guys, their faces blank. "Slightly strange proposition."
"Well, you know how we're reworking a lot of the choreography on tour, we didn't have much time to get new routines down before the tour started, between recording the new album and stuff."
Chris nodded, she'd seen them rehearsing.
"Our choreographer saw you at the photo shoot, says you have the body of a dancer." Kevin grinned. "Maybe not in that outfit though."
"I'm not a dancer.." Chris started.
"I know. But she thought you have an interesting dynamic with us as a group."
"Ok..."
"You know the song Don't Want You Back?"
"Sure, it's a great song."
"Fatima was thinking of working up a routine where we sing that to you."
Chris laughed. "You guys are gonna yell at me on stage?"
Kevin nodded. "Basically. She'll work up some dance moves to make it look like we're fighting, that kind of thing. She'll need to meet with you, see how well you can dance, how much she can have you do."
"I don't know Kevin, I'm supposed to be the reporter here.." she was uncomfortable with the idea.
"Aww, it'll be fun, Chrissy." Nick put his arm around her shoulders. "And it'll give you something to do every night at the concerts from now on, you won't get bored."
"And you'll get to experience the wonder of me on stage." AJ winked. "If you need any extra coaching in the dance moves, just say Bone, baby."
"Let me think about it?" Chris asked. "And I should run it by MTV.."
"No problem, we'll talk tomorrow."
"I should go to bed, nite guys." Chris made the rounds of the room, this time making sure she kissed each and every guy on the cheek before turning to leave. "See you tomorrow."

A Day in the Life Of... Day Eight (Vancouver to Seattle)
- Kevin Richardson Confession Footage, Day Eight
"Just sit there and talk to me Kev, don't worry about the camera." Chris' voice, off camera.
"Ok." He sits down on the couch and turns to face the camera, stiff as a board.
Chris' laughter is heard. "This your Al Gore impression?"
His shoulders slump. "Sorry, just a little uncomfortable with this."
"No problem. Let's just jump right in....how did you end up doing this show?"
"That's an easy one. Mike Riley, he's head of programming at MTV, has been a friend of mine for years and years. I met him back in the Ninja Turtle days, he used to work summers at Disney while he was in college. Once he went to MTV we kept in touch, and we always would have long talks about the music industry, and how they all saw the Backstreet Boys. One day Mike came to me with a concept for a show he swore could change our image. He convinced me, I took the idea to the guys, it went from there."
"Which one of the Backstreet Boys had the hardest time with the idea?"
"I think we're all having pretty hard times with it in our own way. Howie's having a tough time with the lack of privacy. Nick just doesn't like people knowing stuff about him, the truth has been twisted on him so many times. AJ's finding it hard to relax, he's such a natural show man in front of a camera. Brian's scared he's going to give away all his secrets."
"What about you?"
"I feel bad for the impact doing this is having on my wife. But I also feel like it's something we had no choice but to do. It's only 9 months out of a lifetime, after all, and if it works, we will have repaired something that's been broken for a long time."
"Where's your wife now?"
"Back at home. She's going to come on tour for a while next week, I think, but having the cameras around is going to be tough on her. She's an actress, it's her job to be on screen. She doesn't like the idea of taking it home with her."
"How do you like touring?"
"Getting up on that stage, hearing everyone screaming your name, singing to that many people, it's amazing. I love producing music, but performing live, there's nothing like it in the world."
- End Confession footage.
**************************************************
Chris made her way into the arena, grumbling at the weather.
"Woah girl, where do you think you're going." Allen ran up to her and stopped her.
"You know, I'd hoped that Seattle wouldn't be as rainy as I'd heard it was. And I'm meeting with Fatima," she pointed to the stage, where sure enough, the choreographer was waiting for her.
"You have to meet someone first." Allen gestured to the tall brunette standing behind him. "This is Elaine."
"Hi Elaine," Chris offered her hand, confused.
"Elaine's going to be your bodyguard from now on."
"Oh." Chris stared at Elaine. She looked strong, she supposed, but not really, just like another 20 something.
"I know I don't look huge like the guys do, but I assure you, I'm just as good." Elaine smiled. "Allen thought you'd be happier with a bodyguard who doesn't look like one. The guys, they need the visible protection."
"Thanks." Chris nodded.
"No problem. Just from now on, before you go anywhere, you tell Elaine. Got it?" Allen said firmly.
"Got it." Chris waved, and joined Fatima on the stage.
The two women ran through some simple dance moves, with Chris continually joking about her two left feet and clear 'lack of dancing talent.' They worked for about an hour, until Fatima finally sat Chris down. "So am I awful?" Chris chuckled.
Fatima handed her a bottle of water and shook her head. "No, and if I hear one more joke about it, you're never dancing with my boys."
"Really?"
"Really, and it's not good to put yourself down like that. You clearly have had some training in the past, you're just a little rusty."
"Theater, I always was dancing in some show or another." Chris explained.
"I can see it." Fatima stood up. "I need to go work with the boys now. We're off Thursday, I'll start teaching you all the new routine then."
"You sure I should do this?"
"I never have a bad idea." The dancer smiled and hugged Chris. "The fans are going to eat this up."
"I sure hope so..."
*****************************************
That night Chris was forced to wait for Elaine before joining Julia at their seats for the concert. When she finally was allowed to walk into the arena, she heard whispers and saw people pointing at her. Girls were gasping, looking at her shocked, almost like she had done something wrong, or had something on her face. She tried not to notice it, and made her way to Julia as quickly as possible.
"Aren't you quite the celebrity now." Julia snickered as Chris sat down. "They're gonna LOVE the guys yelling at you on stage."
"Are you sure that's such a good idea?"
"You told me yourself, MTV brass ate it up. So yeah, Chris, I'd guess that makes it a pretty good idea."
Chris sat back and looked at the arena. Only the third she'd seen on the tour so far, and already she was noticing how similar they all were. "Thursday, in Quebec, that's when I'm gonna learn the new dance. Fatima said it may take all day for us to get it down, but that's the only day we're gonna have, she wants us ready to perform it by Friday night."
"Performing on stage at a Backstreet Boys show. Tabitha Soren never got to do this, baby." Julia bounced in her seat as the lights dimmed and the show started. "Hold this." She pulled a sign out of her bag reading "THE EYEBROWS ARE ALIVE."
"Um, no!" Chris read the sign and stared at her friend. "Kevin?"
"AJ asked me to. How could I say no to a friend, right?"
"I think you're spending too much time with AJ, Julia," Chris ruffled Julia's hair. "He's rubbing off on you."
"Yeah, and you should stop hanging out with Nicky."
"Nothing wrong with acting younger. Good for the soul."
"Nothing wrong with being horny."
Chris burst out laughing as Kevin spotted the sign and discreetly gave Julia the finger. "Oooh, you're busted now."
"No way, I'm blaming it all on AJ."
After the concert, Julia did just that, screaming "AJ MADE ME DO IT" as Kevin walked through the basement of the arena with her slung over his shoulder. The rest of the gang followed, trying to get Kevin to put her down.
"Eyebrows, right?" Kevin smacked Julia's rear lightly. "And that's for Amazon."
Julia was able to reach his rear from where she was, and wasted no time showing Kevin she wasn't afraid to spank him too.
With a yelp, he put Julia on the ground, laughing. "So AJ made you do it."
Julia nodded solemnly, pointing to AJ. "It was that man, aye."
Kevin tackled AJ and the two wrestled on the ground, playfully smacking each other around until both were out of breath.
"They should stop, Kevin's an old man now, I don't know how much of this he can take." Brian laughed, watching the two.
They all piled into the van for the trip to the hotel, riding in relative silence. Julia followed in one of the cars behind with the crew, telling Chris she was probably safer keeping some distance from Kevin for a few hours. When they got to the hotel, the security guards warned that they would be walking past fans on the way in, and to tuck in any loose items, take off any hats, etc.
"That includes you, Chrissy," Nick poked her gently.
"Me?" She raised her eyebrows. "No way, the first episode ran just last night."
"Better safe than sorry." Elaine turned around from the front seat. She pointed to Chris' purse, "I'll hold that until we're inside."
"You sure?"
"Straps break very easily," AJ assured her, "Amanda goes through purses like you wouldn't believe."
"Okie dokey." Chris got out of the van behind Nick, her ears ringing with the screams right beside her. At least at the arena they were in a big space...she barely made it a foot before a hand grabbed her shoulder, asking for an autograph.
"Sure," Chris took the offered pen and paper, "what's your name?"
"Sally."
Chris signed 'to sally, with love, Chris Johnson,' and handed it back
"Who was that girl with Nick?" Sally's hand was on Chris' arm, eyes wide open.
"I don't know," Chris shook her head and pulled her arm away.
"Please, I need to know," Sally reached out again with both arms, "I love Nick, I need to know."
Elaine stepped in and pulled Sally away from Chris. "And you thought you wouldn't need me," she said softly. "The guys are already inside, go ahead."
Chris walked, well, nearly ran the rest of the way into the hotel, joining the guys by the elevator. "Why can't the girls who love you talk to you, Nick?" She smacked him on the shoulder.
"Sorry," he shrugged. "I wouldn't have been able to tell her who the girl was, anyway."
"Such a slick stud." AJ said sarcastically.
Nick shoved AJ into the elevator just as the doors opened, barreling down a very attractive woman making her way out.
"Excuse me, Miss," AJ helped the woman back up, making sure to check every inch of her body for bruises before letting her go. "I am so sorry for my friend here, he's just a child, you see."
"Shut up, AJ." Nick banged the panel on the elevator for their floor.
"What's wrong with you tonight, Nick?" Kevin asked, concerned.
"Nothing." He mumbled, staring at the floor.
They continued in silence until the elevator got to their floor. Everyone found their rooms, and headed inside to sleep.

A Day in the Life Of Day 10 (Montreal)
Chris and Julia were having a quiet breakfast in the hotel lobby before the long day of rehearsal. Julia had taken Chris shopping in Seattle the day before for the 'appropriate workout attire', after all, as Julia so forcefully put it, when you're working out with 5 hotties, you can't wear just any old sweatpants. So Chris had the latest in workout gear, from tight sports bras and bike shorts, to comfy baggy tearaways (which she was only to wear TO the arena, not to actually dance in, Julia emphasized).
Week two of the show was starting to take shape as well, with a focus on Kevin's role in the group emerging as the most likely story. Chris had made sure to ask all the other guys about Kevin in their confessions the day before (LONG road trip), and had gotten some really sweet stories from Brian and Howie about him.
Howie was slowly coming out of his shell. He still refused to talk to Chris about the source of his nightmares, but he said that he was dealing with it and would be fine. She was determined to get him talking eventually, but didn't want to force him to do anything he wasn't ready to do.
"You know Nick and Kevin had quite the heart to heart the other night?" Julia was never going to leave Chris alone about Nick, that much was becoming clear.
"Really now." Chris picked at the fruit plate in front of her, digging for the frozen yogurt.
"Yup. About that girl."
"I talked to him about it too."
"He didn't tell you what he told Kevin."
"Are you going to tell me, or am I going to see it when I go into final cut Saturday, Julia?"
"Kevin had asked him about you."
"And?"
"He told Kevin that if you had been around, he probably wouldn't have picked up that girl."
"And that means, what Julia." Chris was getting frustrated. That meant nothing, it was clear Julia was trying to find something that wasn't there.
"He wants YOU, you idiotic girl. He said more..."
"Julia, we're not in high school, and Nick's not the quarterback. He's Nick Carter, I work for MTV, and I'm doing a job here. Enough, ok?" She finished off her coffee and grabbed her gym bag. "I have no idea when we'll be done tonight, it may be a long day."
"Rubbing yourself against 5 sweaty bodies all day. Chris, if only all of us had to endure such torture."
"Yeah, yeah" Chris waved off her friend, made sure Elaine was with her, and headed to the arena for her first real rehearsal.
***********************************************
5 hours later, Chris thought she was going to die. They'd gotten through, maybe half of the song, and her hips hadn't done so much thrusting in years. She was in the arena parking lot, enjoying a cigarette, when AJ caught up with her.
"Just like me, work until your lungs are killing, then go for a smoke." He sat down next to her and lit up. "So you like the routine so far?"
"Sure." Chris had to admit it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of bumping and grinding, especially with Nick, who had most of the sexual lines in the song. She even had to grab his rear at one point, and Nick had to grab hers. AJ was a riot to dance with as well, while his grabbing may not have been choreographed, he certainly enjoyed trying. "The ending sounds like it will be fun."
"You flat on your back with us on top? Oh yeah." AJ waggled his eyebrows. Fatima had come up with an elaborate ending where the guys back Chris up, then talk her down to the floor, until she's on her back, the guys surrounding her.
"I can't really imagine we'll be ready to do this tomorrow night, though." Chris finished her cigarette and threw the butt away.
"You underestimate Fatima." AJ reassured her. "We're not leaving tonight until we're done."
************************************************
Chris fell to the floor, yet again, tripping on Nick's foot trying to do the complicated footwork. "Sorry," she pushed herself back up, trying to avoid Nick's glare. It was now 7 at night, everyone was tired, and until Chris got the whole song down, they weren't leaving.
"Come here Chris, practice with me." Kevin, understood how difficult it could be to learn new moves.
"Thanks," she joined Kevin and watched his feet carefully, grateful for the help. "I think Nick is starting to hate me."
"He's just tired and hungry, like the rest of us." Kevin whirled around, arms up in the ending pose. "Like that."
Chris did the moves perfectly, ending on her back, Kevin in Nick's place over her. "I got it."
Fatima cheered and called everyone together. "Alright, one last time."
************************************************
Chris stumbled into her room at 10, exhausted, sweaty, hungry, in pain, just feeling overly whiny. She turned the tv on and went into the bathroom, desperately needing a shower.
A good half an hour later she emerged, clean and shiny, and slipped into her customary pj's and slippers. Grabbing the room service menu off the nightstand, she flipped through it, checking out the options for tonight's dinner.
"Chris?" Elaine's voice, soft, through the door.
"Yup?" Chris peeked her head out the door.
"Just wanted to let you know I'm going to get dinner. Toby will keep an eye on you," she pointed to Nick's bodyguard standing watch outside his room.
"No problem." Chris looked over at Nick's room and shrugged. Why not. She walked down the hall and knocked on the door.
He answered in a pair of boxers, hair wet from the shower. "Hey, it's Disney."
"Hey. I was just going to order some room service and watch tv...wanna join me?"
Nick looked startled for a second, then a grin creeped over his face. "Sure." He followed her back down the hall to her room, where they tore through the room service menu.
"How did you manage to get a Playstation 2?" Nick lounged on the bed, while they waited for the food to arrive.
"A friend of mine went to Japan on vacation, I asked her to bring me back one."
"I thought they were hard to get though?"
"Not that hard." Chris smiled. "Us gals are resourceful."
"It's totally cool, did you play with it at all?"
"Played some Tekken Tag with Howie yesterday, it's ok."
"OK?! You gotta play with me, baby, I'll show you what gaming is."
"Sure, Nicky." She laughed.
The food arrived, and they found themselves watching a rerun of ER as the food settled in their stomachs, both becoming sleepy. Chris curled up next to Nick, her head on his chest. "You make a good pillow."
"Anytime." He ran his hands through her hair and held her close. "Although I lost the remote."
Chris groaned and rolled over to find it, "here, you silly boy."
Nick pulled Chris back to him again, voice husky, "I'm not a boy, dammit."
She stared at him, a knot forming in the pit of her stomach. "I know."
"I'm 20 years old."
Chris nodded, feeling his hand stroking her back.
"You're 27."
"Yup," was all Chris could squeak out. She didn't know where Nick was going with this.
"7 years is nothing."
"Yeah..."
"I mean," he sat up slightly, dislodging her. "You don't need to treat me like a kid."
"I don't." She traced the tattoo on his arm, not noticing the shudder that went through him as her nail dragged along his skin. "Kids don't have these."
He shifted under her. "A tat has nothing to do with me not being a kid. I just, I didn't grow up normal. I grew up fast."
Chris hugged him tightly. "I know, that had to have been rough."
"Just weird." He ran his hands through her hair again, playing with the ends. "All I used to want to be was a kid, play with my games and stuff. All of a sudden, lately, it's important that people realize I'm not."
"You want to be seen as an adult, that's only natural, Nick."
"Yeah." He rubbed her back in silence for a while, the two of them curling close. "Your Mickey's are tickling my legs."
"Oh." Chris kicked off the slippers, rearranged her feet around Nick's legs. "Better."
"Much."
She felt her eyes start to close, his embrace warm and snug. "Nite Nicky."
"Sweet dreams, Chrissy."
**************************************************************************
A Day in the Life Of.. (Day 11)
Chris ran around backstage like a chicken with its head cut off, looking for the stylist. "Where did Monique go? I can't wear this!" She lamented to Kevin, holding up a minuscule silver dress.
"Why not?" He eyed it closely. "You'd probably look amazing in it."
"I am NOT letting an arena full of teenies look up my dress when Nick pushes me down." In rehearsal, when Nick shoved her down for the end of the song, her legs had a strange tendency to flap into the air as Howie lowered her to the floor.
"I see your point. I think she went that way," Kevin pointed, and Chris took off again. Running around a corner, she ran smack into Brian, who went falling to the floor.
"Oh, sheesh, Brian," Chris bent down and offered him a hand up. "I'm so sorry."
Brian laughed off her apologies, all smiles. "Don't worry about it. What's the hurry?"
"The show starts in an hour, and I can't wear this." Chris held up the offending dress again.
"Looks good to me." He winked.
Chris spotted Monique down the hall and threw the dress at Brian. "Here, keep this, I gotta find something else."
Monique and Chris argued over what she should wear for almost the full hour before finally settling on a pair of tight black leather pants (too tight, Chris argued), a black velvet halter top (too small), and a pair of black character shoes (no argument on those). Finally dressed, Monique pulled Chris' hair up in a high ponytail, and applied makeup to even out her face.
"That wasn't so terrible, was it." Monique spun Chris around to look at herself in the mirror. "Look."
Chris stared at herself. She looked like another person, some rock and roll groupie. Heavy dramatic makeup, the hair, the clothes, "weird."
"You look gorgeous." Monique assured her, and helped her out of the chair. "Go get them out there."
Chris waited by the side of the stage until her cue came, then ran out in darkness to take her spot on stage.
"Good luck." She heard Nick whisper, taking his place behind her. "You look gorgeous."
"Thanks," she whispered back quickly as the lights came up, and the song started.
The fans seemed to eat it up, screaming when Nick rubbed up against her, cheering when he shoved her down, loud screams and applause at the end. AJ helped her up and gave her a hug, "that was great," and she headed offstage to wait for the rest of the guys to finish the show.
"Chris!" Julia grabbed her in a hug as she made her way back to the reception area. "You were fantastic."
"You think?" Chris pointed to her outfit. "Look at what I had to wear."
"It's hot, no question, you had Nicky in the palm of your hand up there."
"Whatever, come with me while I change out of this."
Chris and Julia chatted about the show, and how well it had done in the ratings so far. For the first time, MTV had won it's time slot with the premiere of 'A Day in the Life Of", and the brass intended to keep the pressure on. The two girls swore to take some time in Boston next week to hang out, just the two of them. They both were feeling a need to 'come back to earth,' and pull away from the guys just a little. This was their life, not the life of Chris and Julia, and they needed to remember that. Lisa's best friend was also in Boston, and Chris was looking forward to spending a night outside of a hotel room.
"But sleeping with Nicky is nice, isn't it." Julia grinned.
"Don't give me that," Chris threatened, "Dave told me you spent last night with AJ."
"Nothing happened, Chris, he's got Amanda." She argued, "that's different anyway."
"Please, it's exactly the same."
"Naw, it's just harmless flirting with me and AJ."
"Same here."
"I don't think it's just flirting to Nick, Chris."
"Why, because he's so young, he wears his heart on his sleeve? You've seen as well as me that he's not really like that, Jules."
"It's not that. I just get the feeling he cares about you as more than just a friend."
"Whatever."
