Summary: After an explosive fight, Obi-Wan storms off broken hearted and leaves Qui-Gon's world in shambles. Both struggle to come to terms with what's happened and the "deeper meanings" behind Qui-Gon's dream of Xanatos. Qui-Gon's meditations on this have left him with the sinking suspicion that Xanatos is behind everything. Now Qui-Gon can no longer sense Obi-Wan's force signature and Obi-Wan has been captured! Qui-Gon is relentless however and will chase Xanatos to the ends of the galaxy to find Obi-Wan. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan has found his captor to be an unsettlingly friendly Xanatos. Qui-Gon now knows Xanatos general destination and Obi-Wan's force sense is slowly coming back to him.

Qui-Gon's POV:

"Master Jinn," Knight Jaren knocked on the door gently.

"Enter," I was already pulling on my boots.

"Its the 10th hour, as you requested, I'm here to wake you," he smiled letting a little humour slip across his features, "An unnecessary task, apparently. Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, I did, thank you. Anything of interest happen while I was asleep?" I asked even though I knew if anything had happened he would have woken me.

"No, not unless you would say my futile attempts to count the stars as they pass in order to stay awake counts," he laughed openly now.

"You should have woken me earlier if you where having that much trouble staying awake," I said with a smile.

"Oh, no, it’s ok," Jaren protested, "I wasn't sleepy, just bored."

"Oh, I see," I laughed as I stood up, "care for... I guess it’s closer to second meal than first," it felt good to laugh again, "so are you hungry?"

"Sure, I'll grab something from the food resipracator. Any requests?" he lauged.

"They all taste like cardboard," I answered, "anything that doesn’t look like it’s become sentient in the storage unit."

"Is that a challenge, Qui-Gon Jinn?" he laughed again, "I'll meet you in the cockpit."

"Alright," I said with a smirk and walked down the short hall to the cockpit. It only took three minutes to go over all of the controls and verify we were still on course, which we were. 'Two more days of staring at the stars as they whiz by,' I thought to myself.
//Master?//

'Did I imagine that?'

//Master, can you hear me?// My emotions flowed unchecked over our bond for a moment, then I adjusted my shields before answering.

//Obi-Wan?//

//Yes, master.// Relief washed over me like a cleansing rain, 'Thank the force!' //Xanatos has me.//

//I'm coming for you. You're headed for the Neimoidian Purse Worlds, which planet, I'm not sure yet.// I answered and was about to ask if he knew their destination when he cut off my thoughts.

//No, master, its a trap. The whole thing is a…//

//I know it is Padawan.// Of course I suspected as much from Xanatos.

//Master he's coming... probably to give me another dose of that force suppressor. I have to go.//

//Obi-// It was no use, his shields slammed shut and I couldn't sense him anymore.

Jaren walked by me and took his seat in the copiliot's seat and handed me a tray, "Did you feel that, I felt a little tingle-"

"Obi-Wan," I said softly as I looked at the food that was placed before me, "I thought I said food that hadn't attained sentient thought, not one that did and then had the life nuked out of it."

Jaren laughed, "That's the closest I could do, its not as if we have a kitchen. Or, if you like, I could get some s-rats."

"Yuck," I shook my head at the thought of those protein and carb cubes, "this will do fine."

We ate in silence until Jaren ventured conversation again, "So, is Obi-Wan ok, then?"

"For the moment," I answered distantly, barely hearing him, "Xanato's has been giving him force supressing drugs. It wore off just long enough for him to get a short message through to me."
