Mark and Karen's trip to New Zealand, 2004
Well, it finally happened. After 8 months of planning and scheming about moving to NZ, we finally got on the aircraft and went on the reconnaissance mission. Here is the abridged photographic report so far:
Downtown Auckland
Downtown, not too bad.
I love the non-PC adverts in this country...
The Harbour and a 100 yr old schooner.
Moving to the Coromandel, we visited Gene and Judy who moved from the Bay Area 3 yrs ago
A small view of their garden
Small slice of paradisie, almost a 10 mile drive from Gene and Judy's home.
One of the interesting aspects of Auckland is the complete lack of ugly women, I guess that most of them were shipped to Daly City a few years ago.
Auckland has 'four seasons in a day' type of weather along with an inexpensive public transport system which works very well.
NZ is simply the friendliest place we have ever been to, we have made several friends already. I can't speak too highly of the smart, funny people here (some of who even Gknow the Gnu song :).
