Vortex Lifter
The vortex lifter is a product of weeks of
experimenting with ion vortices, Coanda effect, EHD, and the more recently,
proving that the foil is sole producer of thrust. My idea of the ion
vortex is inspired from the Charged Sheath Vortex Tornado by Peter Thomson.

The notable improvement in these lifter is
obviously the elimination of charge leakage on the corona wire support by
replacing balsa with polystyrene supports. There is also an increase in
rigidity as well as reduced weight. but to be honest, I experienced some
difficulties winding the wire around the polystyrene. I solved this
problem by applying thin double adhesive tape near the top of the polystyrene.
