Marlee is a shelter dog

Marlee was adopted from the  Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in Waukesha.

HAWS' mission statement is:

"Our purpose is the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of humane sentiments and principles and the obtaining of a union of effort in humane work and animal control in Waukesha County."

The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, Inc. (HAWS) is a private, charitable, non-profit organization whose animal shelter has been serving the animals and people of Waukesha County for thirty years.

The Society is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals and to the promotion of humane care and treatment of all animals. HAWS provides sanctuary for unwanted, abandoned, lost or injured animals. It supports cooperative humane efforts throughout the state of Wisconsin.

The Society's humane work is funded by contributions from owners of relinquished and adopted pets and from others who care about the welfare of animals.

A board of directors, elected by members, establishes policies for the society, and board meeting are held the third Monday of every month. An annual membership meeting is held each September which the public is invited to attend.
