The bridal party wore this lovely design by Alfred Angelo (click on the picture to see its write-up at the official website). It's somewhat reminiscent of the Jane Austen "Sense and Sensibility" era...one of the bride's favourite movies!
It comes in a wide array of colours, but we chose pewter to best co-ordinate with our wedding colours.
DESCRIPTION: Iridescent chiffon, crystal beaded trim...scoop neckline...empire bodice accented with crystal beading at waist...trumpet sleeve...A-line skirt...floor length. The trim is always in silver.
The dresses arrived on August 23rd...*WOO-HOO*...and were absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Pewter was DEFINITELY the right decision for colour...*GRIN* |

Now that we've had our second wedding, I can finally reveal my gown! *cheshire grin* It was everything I could have wanted or dreamed for, and more...
My concept and deepest desire was to have a wedding dress that was of a medieval, Celtic kind of style. Because I'm not big on lace, I wanted something simple, yet very feminine and elegant.
Lucky for me, the FIRST dress I saw in the bridal boutique window on my first scouting trip in April 2001 was precisely what I wanted! *WOO-HOO* Although I tried several dresses on that day (my friend Roxanne, who came with me and took the pictures, can attest to this!), there was no question that this dress was "the one!"
Designed by Anika Montana, it features a scoop neckline, V-waist with A-line skirt, buttons all down the back, long, flowing chiffon sleeves, and a gorgeous vine-like design on the bodice. It even had a little bit of a train too, which was very cool! |
| I was lucky to find my shoes at the bridal store called Shades of White in Victoria, British Columbia, on a fun shopping trip with my sister on my b-day weekend in July 2001!
The style is called "Cynthia," by Satin Party. I absolutely love them, because they give the illusion of a thin high heel, but are actually very secure as the heel spans the back of the shoe. With the ankle straps too, these shoes definitely AIN'T coming off...keeping me steady! *LOL* The floral applique is kind of hard to see in the picture, but it's also very pretty... |
