To support this very strong program, I started this Rebel support page with the appearance of Rebel 8.0. In the meantime it is part of the official Schröder BV Rebel support. Most important part of this area is the Rebel 10.0 FAQ.
I wrote an extended version of the Rebel database description to clarify some points in this description. The relationship between Rebel position databases and (Bookup) EPD files is also described.
This description was written with Word 97 and is saved in both Word V6.0 and Word 97 format. To read and print this document, you need either Word V6.0, Word 95/97, WordPad (part of Win95 and WinNT4), or a text system with a WinWord import filter. As an alternative you can download the WinWord Viewer for free directly from the Microsoft download area.
Beside the free Rebel databases, available after Rebel 10 subscription, you can find a lot of game material in PGN format at the University of Pittburgh Chess Club's FTP server under the PGN directory. In the subdirectory Events you can find tournaments, sorted by year and event, and in the subdirectory Players you can find games of famous players, sorted by name. You can get a complete index of all available data (PGN, CA, CBF, ...) by downloading the file allindex.zip.
