VII         BREAKDOWN OF THE SEVEN YEARS OF TRIBULATION.

 

Daniel 9:24-27 (NRSV)

24 “Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and your holy city: to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place. 25 Know therefore and understand: from the time that the word went out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the time of an anointed prince, there shall be seven weeks; and for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with streets and moat, but in a troubled time. 26 After the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing, and the troops of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. 27 He shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall make sacrifice and offering cease; and in their place shall be an abomination that desolates, until the decreed end is poured out upon the desolator.”

70 weeks of years was the time period God  gave to bring in everlasting righteousness in three parts which do not run concurrently : 7 weeks, 62 weeks and the final 1 week. This time period included the death of Christ (anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing) and also the coming of the Antichrist in the final week. This is when its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war and desolations are decreed. 

The seven year covenant is broken midway by the now satanically controlled antichrist who wants to rule Israel as well. Through the beast, the antichrist rules the world for the last half of the 7 year covenant. This 7 year covenant probably irons out the differences between the Jewish and Palestinian people so they can live in peace as one in Israel. This covenant probably also gives the Jewish people the right to build their temple in Jerusalem and to start worshipping there but this privilege is taken away about 3 and 1/2 years later since the antichrist wants to be worshipped as god and he sets up this nuclear bomb (abomination that causes desolation) in the temple to bring this about.

 

Daniel 12:11-12 (NRSV) 11 From the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that desolates is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred ninety days. 12 Happy are those who persevere and attain the thousand three hundred thirty-five days.

At first the angel says about 3 and 1/2 years from the sacrifice being taken away to the abomination of desolation being set up but then he give us exact dates. When the peace covenant is broken and the sacrifices are stopped at the newly built Jewish temple there will be 1290 days. He also goes on to say happy are those that last till 1335 days.

Matthew 24:15-22 (NRSV)

15 “So when you see the desolating sacrilege standing in the holy place, as was spoken of by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand), 16 then those in Judea must flee to the mountains; 17 the one on the housetop must not go down to take what is in the house; 18 the one in the field must not turn back to get a coat. 19 Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath. 21 For at that time there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Daniel 9:26 States "and the troops of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary" but does not tell us when the temple and the city will be destroyed but Jesus does. When the desolating sacrilege is standing in the holy place it's time to run for the hills because Jerusalem is about to be destroyed but not just Jerusalem, the whole world and there has never been such worldwide desolation and suffering that is now about to happen. Everyone, except the elect, will go through it, most will die because of it. 

1290 days after the sacrifice is stopped the abomination is set up in the Jewish temple, 1335 days after the sacrifice is stopped those that have lasted are happy and this can only be if Christ has returned back into this world and restored it. That leaves 45 days for the world wide desolations to occur.

Revelation 12:4-6 (NRSV)

4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. But her child was snatched away and taken to God and to his throne; 6 and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, so that there she can be nourished for one thousand two hundred sixty days.

 

Revelation 12:13-17 (NRSV)

13 So when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to her place where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent poured water like a river after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood. 16 But the earth came to the help of the woman; it opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her children, those who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus.

From Rev 12:4-6 the dragon (Satan) tries to destroy Christ as soon as he was born but could not do it and now Jesus is in Heaven. This woman is protected by God for 1260 days from the Dragon. From Rev12:13-17 the dragon is still trying to destroy the woman but again protected by God for a time (year),times(2years) and half a time in other words 3 and 1/2 years. Months then were based on 30 days and you will find that 3 and 1/2 years is the same as saying 1260 days so both passages are saying exactly the same thing. This woman is protected by God for 3 and 1/2 years.

Since we are dealing with end time then who else can this woman be except the elect of God i.e. those believers in Christ.  "But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to her place where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time."1260 days God's elect (woman/bride) is protected from the Antichrist and then returns with Christ. That puts the rapture of the elect to  1260-45(days of desolation)= 1215 days before the abomination of desolation is set up.

The children are those that come to believe in the rule of the Antichrist once the woman (body of believers) is removed.

 

ZEPH 2:3 SEEK THE LORD, ALL YOU HUMBLE OF THE LAND, YOU WHO DO WHAT HE COMMANDS. SEEK RIGHTEOUSNESS, SEEK HUMILITY; PERHAPS YOU WILL BE SHELTERED ON THE DAY OF THE LORDS ANGER.

In a world gone mad with nuclear weapons and hatred the only truly safe place of shelter will be with God since in that day of the Lord's anger all God does is simply step aside and allows Man under the guidance of Satan, to have his own way, which is to destroy each other.

 

GALATIANS 3:28-29

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The key verses of chapter 12 of Revelation are as above but a quick summary of the chapter is also needed. What we have is Satan and his angels thrown out of heaven and because of this they try and vent their fury on this woman that gave birth to the child who was snatched up to God(from hell) and who now sits on his throne in heaven who we know is Jesus. We know that Mary gave bodily birth to Jesus but since she is dead and since this chapter is dealing with end time events then this woman that gave birth to Jesus must have a deeper spiritual meaning.

We known that Jesus was born out of God's people so who else could this woman(see Jeremiah3:20 for an example) be but God's people and to be more specific those living believers in Christ(Abraham's seed) at that time when Satan is thrown out of heaven. God's people are also likened to a wife(Ephesians5:25) and a bride(Revelation19:7-8) in other words a woman. It is only the living believers in Jesus that Satan can kill as the souls of all the dead of God's people are already safe with Jesus. These living believer are kept safe and will comprise a large proportion of the people who will enter into the 1000 year future kingdom of Christ.

 

Revelation 13:5 (NRSV) 5 The beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.

Humm!!
Based on 30 days for a month then the beast is given authority for 1260 days. We know that from the sacrifices being stopped to the abomination being set up is 1290 days. For the abomination to be set up the beast would have to be in charge and after that point no one is in charge because Jerusalem is destroyed. This leaves 30 days after the sacrifice is stopped by the Antichrist for the Beast (coalition of antichrist countries) to come into worldwide power.

Revelation 11:3 (NRSV)

3 And I will grant my two witnesses authority to prophesy for one thousand two hundred sixty days, wearing sackcloth.”

These witnesses prophesy for 1260 days and then are killed by the Beast, 3 and 1/2 days later they are resurrected and taken to heaven. At the moment they leave there is an earthquake that kills 7000 people in Jerusalem and the rest of the chapter goes on to say it is time to destroy those who destroy the earth. It is the beginning of the desolation period which makes me believe that the witnesses begin their signs of power and prophesy at the start of the Beast worldwide domination after the Jewish temple has been built i.e. 30 days after the sacrifices are stopped.

Daniel 8:13-14 (NRSV)

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one that spoke, “For how long is this vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled?” 14 And he answered him, “For two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state.”

Humm!!
One angel asked the other how long from when they start the burnt offerings, the desolation, Jerusalem and God's remaining people being trampled. The other angel answer 2300 days and the sanctuary is restored in other words when Jesus returns.

This puts the start of the burnt offerings 2300 days -1335 days (Jesus' return)  = 965 days before the daily sacrifices are stopped.

 Still based on the 30 days a month then the 7 year peace covenant =2520 days. 2520 days - 2300 days= 220 days after the 7 year peace is started the daily sacrifice is started and therefore the new Jewish temple would have to have been built.

 

 

 

REVELATION 11: 1-2 I WAS GIVEN A REED LIKE A MEASURING ROD AND WAS TOLD, "GO AND MEASURE THE TEMPLE OF GOD AND THE ALTAR, AND COUNT THE WORSHIPPERS THERE. BUT EXCLUDE THE OUTER COURTS,DO NOT MEASURE IT, BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO THE GENTILES. THEY WILL TRAMPLE ON THE HOLY CITY FOR 42 MONTHS.

Jerusalem has been given(not taken) from Israel to the nations(United Nations?) in the future which sounds like some peace deal must have been reached which also allows this Jewish temple to be built in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. As the outer courts has been given to those who are not Jews then it is a shared arrangement. The two witnesses appear after the temple has been built.

*The antichrist can not set up the abomination that causes desolation(nuclear weapon?) without this temple first been built.

 

MALACHI 4:5 SEE, I WILL SEND YOU THE PROPHET ELIJAH BEFORE THE GREAT AND DREADFUL DAY OF THE LORD COMES.

One of the two witnesses is named as "Elijah" and this Elijah will announce the future arrival of the great and dreadful day of the Lord to the people of the world in a similar fashion as John the Baptist(who Jesus also called Elijah) who announced the arrival of the Lord Jesus the first time around. The first time Jesus came he came as a savior to die for man's sin and this next time he comes, he comes as king and will set up his thousand year kingdom on earth so in the words of John the Baptist,"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

 

REVELATION 11: 5-7 IF ANYONE TRIES TO HARM THEM, FIRE COMES FROM THEIR MOUTHS AND DEVOURS THEIR ENEMIES, THIS IS HOW ANYONE WHO WANTS TO HARM THEM MUST DIE. THESE MEN HAVE POWER TO SHUT UP THE SKY SO THAT IT WILL NOT RAIN DURING THE TIME THEY ARE PROPHESYING, AND THEY HAVE POWER TO TURN THE WATERS INTO BLOOD AND TO STRIKE THE EARTH WITH EVERY KIND OF PLAGUE AS OFTEN AS THEY WANT. NOW WHEN THEY HAVE FINISHED THEIR TESTIMONY, THE BEAST THAT COMES UP FROM THE ABYSS, WILL ATTACK THEM, AND OVERPOWER AND KILL THEM.

In the reign of the Beast so many of God's people will be killed so it's any wonder these two witnesses are given these powers by God otherwise they could not complete their mission An interesting point in Revelation 11:10 it says that people will be giving gifts to each other when the two witnesses die so could be these witnesses actually die around christmas. This custom was not around in John's days and could be that he saw this gift giving and the death of these two witnesses as the same event and not two separate events that happend around the same time.

  Most people over the world will know about God's two witnesses who are warning everybody about the coming destruction and they should pay special attention to what's been said. The amazing things that they will do in Jerusalem will testify to who they are so most people shouldn't be in any doubt as to who they are but if they heed their warnings is another matter.

 

 

REVELATION 3:2-3

Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.


Humm!!
If a person does not wake up from their sin and turn to worship God then when Jesus does come to take those that are his out of the wrath, those who are still asleep in their sin will be left behind.

Be prepared always- good intentions do not count !

 

ISAIAH 46:9-10

9 Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like me, 10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, "My purpose shall stand, and I will fulfill my intention,"(NRSV)


Humm!!
God declares the end from the beginning so the time for our universe is a fix quantity of time because at the end of it a new heaven and earth are created.

 

REVELATION 21:1-3

The New Heaven and the New Earth 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "See, the home of God is among mortals." (NRSV)


Humm!!
The new heaven and earth will have no sea and God will be directly there with His people so it brings to mind the question how long will the time period were in now last, according to the bible? We know that at the end of the 1000 yr rule of Christ a new heaven and earth are created so that brings 7000 years of mankinds history to a close. (Almost 6000 years of mankind finished at the moment)

Man was created on the 6th day so that means that there were 5 God days before and we know that a God day is worth a 1000yrs. 5000 + 7000 = 12000years.

The number 7 seems to indicate rest and the number 12 a completion eg 12 apostles, 12 tribes of Israel,(Rev7:4)12 000 from each tribe to make up the end time witnesses, 12 months to a cycle. If we use the calander as a reference for the total amount of time for this earth then we would be into the last day in November.
