First Appearance: Luke Cage, Power Man 29
What's His Problem? Mr. Fish was a strictly small-time,
penny-ante burglar until, under orders from the Maggia, he
attempted to steal a mysterious isotope down by the docks. While
holding the isotope, its radioactivity affected him, and he naturally-enough
jumped into the ocean. Hours later, he emerged as Mr. Fish. He went back to work for the Maggia, now as more of a minor
crime boss.
Powers: With a name like Mr.
Fish, he didn't really need powers to inspire hysterical laughter in his
opponents. He's pretty strong, he's pretty durable, and he goes great
with tartar sauce.
Heroes He Keeps Running Into: Luke Cage, Power Man, was
Mr. Fish' main foe. In fact, to my knowledge, Power Man was his
only foe!
Favorite Quote: "No one laughs at Mr. Fish!" (Mr. Fish called that one wrong...)
People Who Think He's Not So Bad: Mr. Fish had a crew of
worthless henchmen, with names like "Shrike" and
"Fly". They had no powers, except the ability to
refrain from laughing at their boss. Everyone else who knew him
thought he was all washed up.
Most Despicable Act: Well, when Luke Cage encountered him
he was trying to muscle in on some small truckers. Then, he tied
up our hero and threw him off a building. But, really; his most
despicable act occurred before he got powers (or, in any case, fins) when he shot the trucker who was transporting the
isotope.
