Barnum's messages cause Pedro to rethink things.

Dear Comrade Pedro:

> I got your last mail which you sent on the 26th of
> feb. Before we can continue with the transaction, i
> would like to ask you some questions, 1st i would
> like to know what is going on,because Mr Phineas
> Taylor Barnum has been sending me series of mails
> which i dont know why it is happening the way it is
> happening. But the last of all which he sent to me
> that is on your screen right now :

He's been sending you mail? That bastard! I thought
I had seen the last of him after we tangled in Prague.
Obviously I underestimated him, and from what he
wrote you, he is responsible for my recent injury as
well.

> Right now i want to kow what is really going on
> before we can continue with the deal because this
> deal involves Miscellaneous offence in my country,
> if the govt get's to know about it am sunk for life.

I understand completely. As you are no doubt aware, I
am not on good terms with certain European
governments, so such secrecy comes easily to me.

Barnum is a rival of mine in the private detective
profession, and our views of viable econo-political
structures are diametrically opposed. Naturally, we
hate each other with abandon.

I wouldn't recommend having any sort of contact with
him. Although he is wealthy, his methods of gathering
money are extremely self-serving.

> One surprising thing is that your mail and his came
> almost at the same time.

That is certainly odd. My security expert assured me
that there was no way Barnum would be able to hack
into my computer now, but perhaps he has found a way
to monitor me? I think you and I will need to think
of a way to ensure our messages are legitimate.

(the above is a good example of the fine art of scam-baiting - taking a coincidence (Dan and I emailing at the same time) and spinning it into the story.  It's the little touches that make it or break it)

> As you said in your last mail, issue of paying the
> fee directly to the office of the court registra is
> quite correct but if so, we will have to wait for
> two months before approval and we dont have such
> time now.

I foresee no problems. If you are sure on this matter,
then let us proceed.
