Love

Matthew 5:44-46 says: But I say unto you,Love your Enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth the rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if you love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?


Mark 12:30-31 says: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.


Notice that Jesus said that we must love those that have done evil to us or said evil against us.He said that we must love the Lord thy God with all thine heart that we must love our neighbor as ourselves. He also said that none other commandment is greater than these.
What is Love?
I would venture to say that the word LOVE is probally the most overused and abused word in the english language. We love everything:certain TV shows,chocolate ice cream,popcorn, all types of pets. You name it, we love it. Even though the word love gets used a lot, most of us don't even realize what "Real Love" is.
Love is not common at all---Not "True Love."


What is "Real Love?"
"Real Love" is active. It's something you do!
Look at the key words of this passage:
Be devoted to others
Give preference
Serve
Persevere
Contribute (distributing)
Practice hospitality
Be peaceable
Be of one mind
There is a whole lot of action here!
True Love is "active"
"given to"means to pursue (to go after)


Do you see the difference? Love is not something we're hard pressed, or because it feels obligated. It's motive isn't to repay a favor, or save us from embarrassment.
True love doesn't wait until necessity demands action. But love causes us to immediately identify with our brothers and sisters---And we identify with them readily and easily because we are of "like mind." True Love doesn't take opportunities. True Love seeks out opportunities to bless others in Action.

Love is patient and kind;
Love is not jealous or boastful;
It is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own way;
It is not irritable or resentful;
It does not rejoice at wrong,but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things,believes all things,
Hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends.
So faith, hope, love abide,these three;
but the greatest of these is Love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8


Could You, Would You Please?


Your cold, blank stare, told me.... That you just didn't care. Those around you, labeled you as "Stuck up", but I knew....

I knew there must be a river of tears Behind you, walls of despair around you, And a broken heart that didn't really want mended.

And...I went home and cried last night, I cried, because I knew,you couldn't... And, I asked God, because you wouldn't... To mend a broken heart that you didn't Realize was still there.

I said, "Father, you hold the key To this one's heart: I need to get in and what's my part?

There's got to be a way, I know, to unfreeze This heart that's grown so cold. To pull out that bitter root, That's lodged, so deep there."

"Father, please tell me, won't you please? The key that will unlock this heart, So that I can, indeed, mend the broken part."

Then, with sweet intimacy, he told me, This one needs so much love... And you see...I AM LOVE!!!

But still, she'll never know me, Unless you show her. Harmlessly as a dove, love her for me!

Tell her that I've left 99 all alone, Just where she'd gone and run to.

Tell her I love her, would you please? Tell her, for me, would you please?

Kindly feed this sheep that's ;ost it's way. And I know you will... That is, if you truly love me...!
