ANDREW HAMPTON

Andrew Hampton left will dated 20 Jul 1805 in Rutherford Co NC with oldest son, Jonathan, named as sole executor.  The youngest son, Washington Hampton, received the homeplace and "including
the whole that appertains thereto being part of several tracts to be by him and his heirs fully possessed and enjoyed forever".  The remainder of the estate was divided among children named as follows:

III.    Andrew Hampton, Jr., md Ester Price

IV.    John Hampton

V.    Elizabeth Hampton md William Price

VII.    Benjamin Hampton

VIII.   Alice Hampton

IX.     Rachel Hampton

X.      Mary Hampton md _______Bradley

XI.    Washington Hampton

"Adam, Michel, & Catharine, dead, whose part is to be received by their heirs or representatives in law within two years after my decease".

Noah Hampton was not mentioned in the will; he was also deceased.  In 1779 Andrew Hampton deeded 300 acres to his son, Noah Hampton, on both sides of Mountain Creek in Rutherford Co NC, obtained by grant in 1772.  On 15 Jul 1780, Noah Hampton was killed by the British Office, Major Dunlap, on the Pacelot River.  In 1782 his estate was administered by his brother, Jonathan and consisted of 300 acres and ten horses.
