There has been times in our lives that we had a goal. We slept, drank and ate with that goal on our minds. It was as if we could not see anything else. It consumed us. We worked hard, polished off the rough edges, and the time invested seemed small compared to having ben able at last to see the reality of what we saw in our minds at the beginning. We wanted whatever it was so bad or wanted to be something is o bad that nothing was to much to risk. When at last we had attained it sometimes it was not as great as we thought after all. We looked back though, and saw where we did the impossible, stretched ourselves beyond what we thought we could do , and were surprised at the strength we had just because of determination.
In the same way we can believe something so hard that we give our whole being to it. We can get so carried away by it that sound judgement falls by the wayside. Saul believed something he had been trained in so hard he left no stone unturned in finding anyone who believed otherwise. He knew what he believed from every angle. It was his life present, past and in his mind the future. Then something happened. Something so great that he counted all the dedication of hear, mind and soul in what he believed in as garbage. He was willing to throw it all away for a treasure that he now had found. A treasure that before he was willing to destroy others for because they had found it and believed in it. He listened to people in high places that didn't know what they were talking about and were very wrong. Their wrong information could have lost him eternal life had he continued to listen to them.
I too have found that treasure. It is our Father in heavens Son. Saul found the one that the Jews denied was really the Messiah. Now he believed he was. Like him I didn't have the Messiah in my life, but now I do. What consumes me now is not a physical goal attainable and then passes, but being filled with the Spirit of my Heavenly Father. Being like Him. Through His Son and faith in Him I can have righteousness, His righteousness, not mine.
If I have the mind in me that was in His Son when He walked the earth, then in everyday choices, test and trials of life, I can do it the way He would have. He would have done it in accordance with His Fathers will.
The Messiah told them that if they had seen him they had seen the Father. He was in the express image of the Father in how he lived. I am told to be perfect as He is perfect, to be Holy as He is Holy. I want to be so filled with His Spirit that when people see me, it is not me they see, but Him in me.
I crave for the comforter to be with me. It will intercede in my behalf, pray for me and teach me all things that no man need teach me. I believe this because of 1 John 2:27 and Romans 8; and I believe all these wonderful promises. I can hold on to them in all the storms of life, and my daily walk with them.
I am a new creation though the Messiah in me and me in Him. 1 Peter 1:23. I am forgiven and every day can walk before my Father with a clean heart, knowing He hears every word spoken, or thought I have, and I like it! I do not walk in this life alone anymore. I have my Heavenly Father, His Son, His Spirit the comforter, the Spirit of truth, and His angels watching over me to guard me and protect me.
I have a hop, not just in the future for a resurrected body that will
be like His Sons, and to see Him as He is. I will know Him as He knows
me. Every day I have them living in me through their Spirit. My hearts
desire is to belong to them eternally. It can happen! I can trust in it,
and believe in it because I am told my Fathers plan will not change nor
can He lie. I can hold on to it., dream of it, et it consume me in a
driven desire to attain it. Yet it is not of even my desire or any works
I do, it all is a beautiful gift from my Heavenly Father.
