Can You Hear, And See It?
How many times have you read something and in your mind pretended you could see what was being described? You pretended you heard people in the stories, and even gave them an accent. I started to do this also when I read the scriptures.
For a very long time I found if I personalized promises, and commands in the scriptures that it was more impressive to me. I started changing we, our, they, them, you, over to me, my or I in the scriptures, and actually wrote it near the other word if there was room. It was like a one on one conversation. I pretended I heard the words said to me. I understood it
better that way, some times things I had read many times became more clearer.
I also like to pretend that Yahshua / Jesus is looking at me, and me at Him when I read as if He is talking right to me. I am here to tell you it really makes me take note of what is being said! Sometimes I read it as though He is telling me the story in first person. Or His Father is telling me about His son and what He did and why.
Not long ago I read about the crucifixion as if the Messiah was walking me through it in first person and telling me what was happening. What different people were doing. What he did and about it.
For an example.
Matthew 26:57 ( the idea not word for word )
And when they laid hold on me the lead me away to...
Peter followed me afar off...
Now the chief priest s and elders, and all the council sought false witness against me to put me, to death....
And the high priest rose up and ask me, answer me nothing?...
But I held my peace....
Then they spit in my face, and buffeted me: and other hit me with the palms of their hands..
I know when I read this story before the memorial services as if He were telling it to me as it happened to Him. That the service is going take be a lot more personal as to what He went through and did for all the ones who have accepted Him as their Master.
