Lady Mary Stewart is a very prolific author. Her first book, Madam Will You Talk?, was published in 1955. She has written over 20 books, ranging from romantic mystery (a genre she refined) to historical epic to children's fantasy. She is most famous now for her Merlin Trilogy, which was a fairly sharp departure from her previous works. However, her non-Merlin novels were always well received, and most of them spent considerable time on the best-seller lists.
