Witnessed and was executor in the will of William Ray, May 1792.
In 1779 he witnessed a deed gift made by William Washington to his son, Ephraim Washington.
Muster Roll of 6 Dec 1754 shows James, Absolom and Solomon were members of Capt. Daniel Harris' Company of Col. William Eaton's Granville Co. Regiment.
On 5 Feb 1780 made a gift deed to his son William and son-in-law John Wood.
Received gift deed of 150 acres from father on 25 Dec 1760, on Tarr River, witnessed by brother Solomon.
Another gift deed was received in 1764.
In his application for Revolutionary War pension, he states he was born April 15, 1762, in Granville County, NC, to James & Jane Langston.
