Oromo's Muslim Association of Oregon (OMAO) is a non-profit, non-stock, religious organization formed in February 1999. It is aiming towards reviving educational and cultural role of the Muslim Ummah
through authentic educational programs for Muslim children as well as elders.
      Currently, OMAO is running weekend school program in which several subjects were being taught. we would like to establish a community, a warship place and learning center for all ages. Some of our teaching activity it already started. We believe that if we don't take important step to teach our children about our religion and our identity, we will be a total loser here in this life and the life hereafter. Over all teaching our children is every parent's responsibility, however unless all community cooperates and establishes effective learning channel, it is difficult to fulfill that great responsibility. If we fail to fulfill our responsibility we will be asked in front of Allah.
What is the main objective of this Organization? 
Our main objective is
1) To teach our young Muslim kids the fundamental aspects of our religion.
2) To teach our children, Muslim history
3) To teach our children Oromo language and alphabet.
4)  To have classes for grownup about our religion
