The following links to things I wrote in college. They have not been edited since, except to convert them to HTML.
9 November 1988
This is a collection of short stories by James based on songs by Laurie Anderson--specifically her album called Big Science. The titles are song titles and the blue text at the beginning is Ms. Anderson's song lyrics. They are shown to give you, dear reader, an idea of how the song goes.
25 April 1988
A short story about life in a quaint small town. Didn't really happen to me, but I like the dark humor.
11 November 1988
This was published in William and Mary's jump! magazine. About an actual encounter I had with someone
named Diane.
28 May 1987
A story about my hometown and Hechinger's. This is kind of out of date if you are familiar with the area.
20 February 1989
You ever have a time in your life when the only thing that matters is having fun? If not, was there
a time when everyone around you seemed this way? I apologize for the gross exaggerations of my friends (if
they can identify themselves).
unoriginal non-fiction
We didn't write this stuff, but we liked it enough to put it here.
December 1989
From jump! magazine at the College of William and Mary. This was the year after the
original I.T. members graduated.
September 1997
From The Washington City Paper. Well-written article about the current state of cartooning
(with graphics).
