Loaded and cabled. The ground clearance below the boxes was 7.5 inches before loading, 6 inches after with unmodified rear springs and new heavy duty gas shocks. One of the two 500Amp fuses can be seen on the left side of the passenger side box. The black rubber covers on the right side of the boxes cover the batteries after the 1 inch thick polystyrene insulation panels are first placed over the batteries. (Some of the cables are longer than necessary since they are left over from the 12V batts.) Some acid stains from the old 5SHP batts can be seen in one box. It has not noticeably affected the marine grade plywood. Strength for the boxes is provided by 1/8" thick, 1" wide steel straps under the boxes. Be sure cables and the inside of the lugs are bright and shiny before crimping, or this is what will result!
