She's reached the point of empathetic amusement about it all, and most of the time she manages to listen sympathetically, but if she's been awake too long on a labor watch, she will tell someone more of the truth than they may be up to hearing . . . .
  • Weaknesses: Amalie is extremely sensitive to children in difficulty and will unhesitatingly endanger herself if she believes that they are threatened. She is prone to explosive outbursts of temper if she feels that she's just done something to embarrass herself, or that people are laughing at her. At times Amalie can become melancholy and will brood about her life before she joined the Renunciates.
• Appearance: Average height, athletic build; reddish-brown hair, blue-gray eyes, fair skin and a deceptively sweet face. She typically wears Renunciate clothing in muted colors and has an amulet with a carving of Avarra as the Lady of Birth tucked under her tunic.
• Pets: Adopted by two of the Guildhouse cats, who manage to leave hair all over the contents of a locked clothes trunk.
• Family: Her son, Kennard MacLeod; foster-daughter Marguerida n'ha Amalie (aka Marja MacAran); blood-sister Constanza n'ha Erisa; foster-sister Lissandra n'ha Leah, and three Oath-daughters: Devorah n'ha Madeline, Lianne n'ha Kindra, and Jennah n'ha Ellemir.

• Other Information: Amalie's former husband stirred up so much trouble for the Guild in Thendara that she was sent to Dalereuth for her training; the city magistrate ruled that she could take their son Kennard with her, and he is presently in training at Dalereuth Tower. Amalie has no contact with any members of her blood family aside from her half-sister Constanza, and would cheerfully commit murder for her sake or that of her son. She does not wake up easily at the best of times and usually achieves consciousness only after three cups of tea and two cigarettes.
