MATTY PAD (UNDER CONSTRUCTION!)

Every man and his dog have drawn a Matty Pad sometime or another in their life, but most people have no idea what Matty Pad really is. So here's a quick note on him...

During one crazy evening of grafitting in February 2004 between myself and Neo (n_e_0_2_8), he came up with yet another random nickname for me. (He gives me a new nickname every week you see.) And that nickname was... you've guessed it, Matty Pad!!! The basis for this nickname was that Matt sounds kinda similar to maxi pad. (It's Neo's logic, you didn't expect it to make sense did you?) So Matty Pad was born a pink blob of pad along with arms, legs, and some basic facial features. A few draws later, I added on the wings as they offer more comfort and security. (Let's face it, everyone likes an extra bit of comfort and security.) This became the standard for all the (many) other Matty Pads to follow. Well known to have a high pitched squeaky voice, Matty Pad can often be heard singing the theme to the Teletubbies and his all-time favourite - The Foreskin Song... (If you don't know that song already, you don't want to know.) Matty Pad could pop up on your screens anytime, and if you're really lucky, you might even catch him playing Graffiti! =D

Due to the shear number and diversity of Matty Pads, I haven't been able to devise a decent way of organising them. They're displayed in no particular order within four categories: Matty Pads in Graffiti, Matty Pads Outside Graffiti, The Paddington Chronicles, and The Travels of Matty Pad. Unless credited, the artist (at a push) is myself. Scroll over image for caption, and click on image to enlarge.

Occasionally, you may run into a lost Matty Pad just wandering around Graffiti. If you do, please save him and return him to me at mattdyer0317@yahoo.co.uk.
