The Cats of Alley Cat Rose Studio of Arts
Faith is our God-child and she lives with her "Mom," the Reverend Cyndy Glassford Westera, head of Save the Wildlife, Inc. Faith is one of two Florida Panthers who have stolen our hearts and who have been our models.
Even though Faith was born in captivity to captive parents as a part of the Florida Panther restoration program, we never forget that she is a wild animal. She is trained, not tamed and she requires very special handling as well as the love that our own resident cats require. She also has very specific dietary needs and it isn't the sort of food you can buy just anywhere. It is expensive and she needs a lot of it. Wild animals do not make good pets.
Too many people put their egos ahead of the animal's welfare and it has to stop. Most captive wildlife ends up being destroyed, many end up killed in "canned hunts" where cowards with guns torment the animal, kill it in cold blood, and then congratulate themselves on their "brave deed."
