* In attendance this week were City Councilman Moses Mayne, his assistant Eunice Collins, Sergeant Ronald R. Lighten, and area Captain Chin.

* ASergeant ronald Lighten gave new crime figures and in general, crime for beat 28X was down considerably.

* We also discussed the possibility that the police department was going to extensively modify the beat officer program which has been credited with building trust between the police department and the citizens of Oakland. The policy is being written and there will be time for comment after the final reommendations come out. At this time it appears as though they are going to try to sell this as a benifit for the citizens as the response time to calls will be less. I am doubtful.

* We discussed the ongoing problems with the Whitehouse Market (link above) and what the community can do in cooperation with the police department. The possibility of small calims court law suite are a possibility. The situation will continue to be monitored.

* We discussed possible ways to say thank you to the Mills Grove Church for allowing us to meet in their basement. it was decided that we would take a collection and give it to them as a "love offering" at the Nov 18th service. Jose will give a short thank you speech and give them the offering (for the kitchen fund.)

There have been several dog attacks around the El Camile area so be on the alert for roaming dogs.
