Neil Young - Waldbühne in Berlin

In my Opinion, the concert of Neil Young's & Crazy Horse on June 26th 2001 was a demonstration of genius rock music. Neil Young and his band improvised as I have rarely seen before. My favourite songs of the overwhelming evening were: Cortez The Killer, Like A Hurricane und My My, Hey Hey. The four new pieces let us expect a good new record.

Rock In The Park - Whitsun 2001

This year I finally made it to one of the biggest music festivals of the year - Rock In The Park in Nürnberg. It was really worth it because I have seen a great variety and a many bands of different styles of music. Me and my group avoided camping in the middle of the chaos near to the stages. But people were partying all over the place. So this was this year's program Rock in the Park.

I have marked the concerts I have seen. A green mark means that I liked the concert, a red mark means that the concert was disappointment. This is:

Linkin Park

A good Crossover concert: The two MCs were pushing the crowd and the DJ was scratching the turn tables. I liked the songs that focused more on the rap and the lyrics.

Kid Rock

I left the concerts after 20 minutes because many people in the audience were drunken and could not stay properly any more. Still they were pushung each other and head banging. I wonder if they cared about this arrogant singer wh talked so much shit. It was a pitty because Kid Rock played some good cover songs (e.g. by the Rolling Stones).

Blumfeld

Blumfeld is not really my taste. But it was worth switching from Kid Rock to this concert because the band members are really nice guys. The lyric songs (mostly in German) were refreshing compared to current pop music, which comes without message too often. 

Limp Biskit

This was an absolutely professionally done concert. The singer placed his message, pointed out the new CD, ... the mood was great - Keep On Rollin' !!!

Alanis Morisette

Finally I have seen her! When Alanis played the old songs from "Jagged Little Pill" my heart was bleeding. What a genius Record!!!

Radiohead

The concert had to cope with the competing bands in the Alternatent and the rain. Unfortunately the sound was not satisfying. But the concert by these masters of sound was still very impressive.

Mambo Kurt

The House Of Comedy was the rescue from the rain on that evening. Thus, I had no chance getting into the tend for Mambo Kurt. From the entrance I could see the audience partying while Mambo Kurt played his own versions of well known songs of the recent years. It was a pity that I could not join them.

Erin Brokovich

After the concert of  Mambo Kurt the crowd headed for their warm and dry sleeping bags. I decided to watch the movie Erin Brokovich feat. Julia Roberts to warm up a bit. However, it did not get warm in the tent. Thanks to the performance of Julia Roberts the movie belongs to the better Hollywood movies.

Reamon

Ah, this is the guy from the radio! The songs were OK to warm up for Anastasias show.

Anastasia

Wow, I did not expect this! Not only has Anastasia the most powerful voice of all white singers, but she has a hot stage performance and a great and also. I thought, Anastasia is going to become a 3-hits starlet, but now I am waiting for the first Duet with Tina Turner!

Him

What a shame: Being drunk on the stage, not able to articulate a clear word, almost no show - this was really a pain. Only the 3 songs from the radio could cheer us up a bit, but the rest was absolutely boring.
