~From the upcoming GUITAR WORLD interview with Art: 3/2001:
Alexakis' sardonic sense of humor is in full effect on Songs from an American Movie, Vol. Two: Good Time For A Bad Attitude, the subtitle of which certainly seems to sum up the country's post-election malaise.

"
The album was named way before [the presidential election], but, boy, it sure does fit", he marvels. "The Halloween, black-and-orange version of the American flag on the cover really fits what's going on right now. I mean, we're like in perpetual Halloween. It's like trick or treat--we don't know what we're gonna get!" He laughs. "Probably trick!"

E!Online GTFABA Review:
"
...the second half of the series is a reassuring return to form, harking back to 1995's ragged pop of World of Noise. Taking its sonic cue from rock heroes like Cheap Trick, the band spews out enough taut chords and Northwestern rage ("When It All Goes Wrong Again," "Misery Whip") to back up this Bad Attitude-driven, new-wave punch with a solid swing."

JAM! GTFABA Review:
"
Trust Everclear leader Art Alexakis to buck the trend. Good Time For a Bad Attitude, the second chapter in his Songs From an American Movie set, is that rarest of followups -- a sequel that's not only as good as the original, but pulls the story together and wraps it up tidily."

Wall of Sound/GTFABA Review:
"
...well, for those who need to rock, we salute Vol. Two — Good Time for a Bad Attitude. Bright, punchy, and well crafted, it slathers an extra layer of grinding guitars on top of the Vol. One sound while maintaining the group's melodic trademarks. Despite its subtitle, the album is less angry than simply excitable. Unlike most hard rock groups of today, Everclear expresses its rage as exploding firecrackers, all sparkly and high end, not as cool, low-end thumping."

~Everclear is on the cover of September's
CMJ New Music Monthly. Inside is a new article, more pictures, and a CD sampler which contains "Now That It's Over", among songs by other artists.
