After many delays we are finally underway with the development of the site. At present access to much of the reserve is difficult for many but this is currently being addressed. We are aiming to put a pathway around the site for easier access & maintenance, and a dipping / viewing platform over the ponds for supervised use by school & youth groups, and other formal educational visits. The whole reserve will ultimately be made accessible to the disabled and infirm and we are incorporating this consideration into the site management plan. We also feel that the idea of a sensory garden area could be expanded upon and possibly, in the future, we may be able to provide such an area within the reserve specifically designed for the enjoyment of those with sensory deprivation.

Some of the groundwork has been already undertaken by volunteers with BTCV, who have laboured hard on clearing much of the invasive willow scrub - often under very wet & muddy conditions!
