After Rev. Ross resigned in 1919, our Church called as its third Pastor the Rev. Ernest P. Driggers.  The Church Membership at that time was 67. According to a letter from Mrs. Driggers, [this would be his 2nd wife, Mary, that wrote the letter] dated March 18, 1976, the Jordan Street-South Greenwood pastorate was his first.  He was ordained February 3, 1918.

On October 8, 1920, the Moderator of Abbeville Association welcomed Rev. Driggers to membership in the Association.  The Church membership was still shown as 67.  Other Church Officers that year were: J. A. Simpson, Clerk, and J. D. McKee, Treasurer [brother-in-law to Ernest Driggers].

In 1921 our officers were: Rev. Driggers, Pastor; M. H. Seigler, Clerk, and J. D. McKee, Treasurer.  The Associational Meeting was held on September 15th and 16th at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

In 1922, the Association met at Calhoun Falls Baptist Church.  The meeting was opened on Thursday afternoon with prayer led by Rev. Driggers.  Later in the program, Rev. Driggers called attention to the Institute for Preachers held in Greenville, SC each summer and urged a full attendance for 1923.  Rev. Driggers resigned the Jordan Street-South Greenwood work in 1922 to accept a call to Duke Street Church in Ninety-Six.  While there he also pastured Siloam and Mt. Herman.  Mt. Herman later became inactive.  After three years in Ninety-Six he accepted a call to Gunter Memorial Baptist Church in Anderson, SC where he remained for 7 ½ years.  While serving Gunter Memorial, he also pastured three part time country church in the area.  They were Mt. Bethel, Little River, and Mt. Tabor;  all full time Churches today.  In 1933 Rev. Driggers resigned the work in Anderson to accept a call to East Park Baptist Church in Greenville, SC where he remained for 14 ½ years until his illness and death in 1947.  He was born in the lower part of the state on September 30, 1887.  He was employed in railroad work prior to entering the ministry.

He was twice married; first to Cleo McKee of Newberry; SC, a sister of our Mr. J. Douglas McKee.  They had two daughters, now deceased.  After the death of his first wife, Rev. Driggers was married to Mary E. Darby of Greenwood.  They had a son, E. P. Driggers, Jr.
